BBC News - Commodore 64 turns 30: What do today's kids make of it?

Awwww yeah. I played a lot on the C64, favourite game? I dunno. Wizball. Uridium. OMG, Yi Ar Kung Fu! Back then 64k was MASSIVE compared to my 48K Spectrum.

30 years! Thats older than a lot of the posters on these boards. Celebrate your own vintageness by reminiscing about the C64! I can't be the only one with childhood memories of this thing!

    Oh god, nostalgia trip!

I remember playing Blue Max, Rick Dangerous, Boulder Dash, Popeye, Golden Axe and many other games like crazy on C64. I was about to get hooked on a dungeon crawler RPG (my first ever at the time, couldn't remember the name even if my life depended on it) I discovered on a compilation tape a friend gave me, when my tape player died. It was back in 1994, by that time finding a replacement was almost imposible. So I left it for better times, which sadly never came. 2 years later I got my first PC.

I think Hillsfar was the game that got me hooked to RPG's. Loved it. Some noteable favourites were Maniac Mansion, Test Drive, Technocop (best intro music ever). Many others i cant even remember the names of now. Good times.

    Good ole load"*",8,1

    RICK DANGEROUS.

Now theres a game I'd want shoehorned into my 3DS, the whole coming into the screen upon death would look sooo cool.

I use to be a C=64 maniac. I had a vast collection of games on tape and on floppy disk. Ah the fond memories.
