o sht.. in that case im sorry.. lol i never owned an original soundwave and i was pretty sure everytime i saw galleries the heads were like the onespictured in the boxes and as seen in tv.. but if thats like the original then still i am not too pleased with how it came out.. i mean they should have put a bit more effort into how soundwave looked like in the tv show and not the toy created 20 years or so ago

If you look closely, his face looks very much like the Decepticon logo.

Remember, all G1 Transformers are re-used molds from the Japanese lines called Diaclone and Microman.

Also yes, I do love the face.

From what I remember (whoch could be wrong) Soundwave was originaly supped to be leader in the first draft of the TF story since the Dcon insignia was designed after his face, but they eventually went with what would become megatron instead...I think I read that YEARS ago, so my memory is fuzzy at best...someone like Nevermore would definitely be able to tell me whether or not my memory is right or not

Personally I love Soundwave's face. It's unique for the first wave of Decepticons, when all the others had actual mouths.

And yeah, the mold was made well before Transformers ever existed.

Well I remember hearing that his head was the basis for the decepticon logo anyways. Hard to deny that if you take a look at both together.

So was Prowl meant to be Autobot leader?

The toy's head is fine to me! Better than the Titanium version, and to be so old in comparison it really kicks ass :D

I doubt Prowl was ever going to be Autobot leader, it seems Prime was a clear choice to begin with just due to size, I guess I could be wrong though.

Yeah, his headsculpt is great. Classic.

I kinda always wished his visor was red, but that's a minor gripe I had when I first got him as a little kid.

I wish the reissue head was painted better. The visor on mine is painted with what looks like a very light coat of paint, almost transparent on one half. And also there was paint splashed on his cheek that I had to scrape off.

Unfortunatly, that problem plagues more than just Soundwave. Every transformer I own has some paint defect somewhere.
