Update: Pics of the pair of launchers
    [IMG]

So i took apart my Powered Commander missile launchers the very day I got PC. Now I have recasted it. I made it simple for myself and just plugged up the holes in the launcher and casted it as one piece. then drilled holes for the missiles.

came out pretty decent. only a few medium sized holes. Now I need to recast the other side.

Yes I can read your mind. At the moment i do not intend to recast this for others. Cause there is a lot of crap people are getting for making it for others. So taking all the comments to heart. I am making this myself for myself.

That's nice work - one day I got to learn how to cast.

But to tell the truth I like my CC with G1 magnus launchers - its a touch of nostalgia on an awesomely re-imagined character.

It also helps to provide a contrast between the three (so they don't look like clones).

I dunno Im partial to the FP design. g1 rockets were ok as a placeholder but now look how awesome he is haha

Casting isnt as hard as people think it is. and i am an impatient and lazy moddifier.

Dont forget everything is a clone of Powered Convoy, The true and original trailer bot.

added painted pics of the missiles to my OP.

the launchers them selves are identical for both left and right, its the clips with the pegs that are different. So that should make it some what easier to do.

i'm with ya on this but these missile launchers look a lot better when they're in trailer mode. and since he's so much bigger now, it is nice to show him with some added "fire power." after seeing all of your casting work lately, i need to learn how to do it. i've always wanted to learn how to do it myself so i can make custom car parts and kits, but this gives me even more incentive to learn.

Actually your are half right. FP is very clever in their design. The clip with the peg is the same for both left AND right sides. you just remove the clip, rotate it around 180 degrees, snap it back onto the launcher and there you got your other side.

Yeah, I went ahead and ordered a set. If the quality is as good as he says, they will be nice.

    Hey,

I was wondering what products are you using for the mold and casting? I was also wondering where can I find these supplies?

After seeing your work, I am very interested in doing this.

Alumilite HS3 is the silicon mold material that I am using. Very resilient. It cures in 24 hours though.

Alumilite also makes resin. However I am using Smooth on.

Yeah, I'll have to chime in there. Alumilite's silicon mold stuff is MUCH better than smooth ons.

Nice, but I still prefer the G1 launchers for City Commander. To me, it looks better if each of the three had their own unique style of launcher.
