I KNOW RIGHT? Ha, this is picking up a bit. I wonder if any of the main 4 of this storyline will die.

Heh, no dissing on you at all TB, so please don't take any offense. I find it funny how John's name is spelled so differently across the internet.

But an interesting plot development nonetheless. I wonder if the original Mogo will come to replace him.

Considering people have been predicting one of the four will die for every event since Rebirth and it has yet to happen, I highly doubt it will for this event. I think DC knows that the GL franchise is a widely diverse fanbase divided between those four characters.

Acording to Legion of Three Worlds, it was Mogo´s death that started the downfall of the Corps.

    So I doubt Mogo´s returning.

There was a Mogo prototype during the Silver Age. That was who I was referring too as a replacement.

Well Johns was the one who wrote Legion of three worlds, so yeah. But Sodam yat, Mogo's Death and several other character and ideas come from an old Alan Moore Abin Sir one shot tale from the 80's.

Naaa. I'm sure Swamp Thing will fly into space with the Star City forrest and create a new planet with the White Energy and the remnants of New Krypton which will create a new Mogo and Geoff John's new multipart epic featuring the Corp vs Lex Luthor and his never ending quest for real estate that was chronicled in Superman 2.

    Or not...

WHich is interesting because Moore's idea for Mogo's death was to come at the hands of the Children of the White Lobe. That prophecy was stopped during SCW. Legion of Three Worlds doesn't really mention how Mogo was destroyed if I recall correctly.

Nevertheless, DC is not going to destroy the Corps again. Perhaps that storyline will get explored, but the outcome won't be what was seen in Legion.

    Mogo will back I think.

Man DC really should get off their "Let's kill a supporting character" kick, it just doesn't have impact anymore when you do it almost every single time

Same could be said for Marvel, really both companies do this too much, but Marvel now has a policy of killing of a character every 3 months I believe, or at least every crossover.

Yeah Marvel is just as bad, and you can see the effect, no one was really buying out the Human Torch death issues like the Captain America ones a few years back.

I think it's out in July.

And the reading order is start with part 1 and end with part 9 (until 10 comes out). There's no additional tie-ins

Ah, I thought it ended in June cover date, and thus was already over, my bad. The no extra tie-ins is good.

I always wait to read them as a complete story, so I'm just now starting Brightest day. After War is over, I may go Rebirth and read it all the way forward again for the whole arc.

It feels like War has been really short compared to some of the other story arcs they've had lately. I can't really say I'm enjoying it though. It seems rather rushed and a little too simple and easy. Aside from Mogo and Ganthet, nobody has really been impacted by everything. Kyle vs. Soranik would have been good drama but that didn't happen. John destroying yet another planet, even though it was Mogo, just seems rather redundant. Been there, done that. I would have liked to have seen what affect extended exposure to the other rings had on Hal, John, Guy and Kyle. They acted a little differently, Hal in particular for a couple of panels, for a little while, but ultimately it amounted to nothing. I don't know, this whole thing just feels like filler to me.

I think it got rushed due to the reboot, they probably had to shorten it.

I love how the last GL issue (yes, last) was supposed to be out today originally, but now it's scheduled for July 13th, and all the rest are coming out shortly after that.

The movie prequels that were supposed to be out in May have just started coming out.

So this reboot will happen in about December if they're having to wait to get everything done before that.
