At Comic Con, Chris Ryall said that the Ramjet spotlight is essentially issue #5 of the TF/Avengers crossover.

This doesn't fill me with confidence.

Is it just me or does IDW's site take forever to load?

I hope this officially confirms the TF/Avengers mini to be IDW-verse canon.

It's been a while since I've feasted on fanboy tears.

And seeing Skywarp on the cover B, I'm hoping he gets some decent characterization as well, for once.

These IDW previews suck. The pictures are always too small to read the wordballons.

I've clicked on the IDW link... I'll come back in an hour when it's loaded!

Interesting cover art - G1-style Ramjet, Skywarp and Megs, not their IDWverse versions.

Oh, it should keep the same level of IDW quality we're used to from previous Spotlights and its been said it can tie-in to the Avengers crossover and also be a stand-alone title set within the IDW series if you don't want the Avengers crossover to be part of the main series.

So I remember being said anyway.

That Ramjet looks a lot like the Classics version, which is pretty cool.

I can make out a few of the words, so there are a few spoilers:

It looks like Ramjet has some ambitions of his own in regards to the decepticon leadership. They talk about Megatron and when Ramjet implies that he has his eyes on Megatrons power, Skywarp reminds him of what happened when Starscream went up against him. Ramjet dismisses Starscream as a lackey, telling Skywarp that his vison was limited, and how he got what he deserved, along with how Megatron has made himself and easy target by coming to Earth. When he informs Skywarp that the mistakes Megatron have made will enable him to ultimately triumph, Skywarp dismisses it as "the biggest bunch of crap" he's ever heard. Skwarp tells Ramjet that when he comes back in one earth solar cycle after he tends to his current mission, that they will "talk", if Ramjets plans are looking up. But he informs Ramjet with an old cybertron saying before departing, "always bet on the leader". Skwarp then teleports, leaving Ramjet alone to embark on his plan. Thats it for the preview, and since I didn't read the Avengers storyline, I don't know if this fits in with it or not.

The dialogue on the preview pages definitely fits Ramjet's character in the IDW series, if you didn't read it. He's intelligent, ambitious, unimpressed by Megatron, without the preening and mincing around we see in Starscream. More like Scourge from RiD.

And as a kid, I didn't have a Megatron, so for about 2 years Ramjet led my Decepticons. Needless to say, my first stop on tomorrow's lunch break will be the comic shop.

There's a new cutie working there now, so that's a bonus. She was dressed as a zombie Catholic schoolgirl last week. Pigtails and dried blood FTW.

Hmm, I'm not fond of Transformers using human vernecular, and Simon Furman seems to have this problem from time to time. Skywarp's "Bunch of crap" line in the 4th preview page seems rather out of place. It doesn't sound like something a transformer would use. It would have been better to replace the "crap" with "scrap" or something similar.

Otherwise, the rest of the preview seems interesting enough. I've not missed a single "spotlight" issue so far, so definitely picking this one up.

Love the cartoon look to the cover art. Will the rest of the comic art look the same?
