    DC
    BIRDS OF PREY #111
    BRAVE AND THE BOLD #7
    CHECKMATE #19
COUNTDOWN 28 (I'm actually seriously considering dropping this book and just following the events - if anything ever actually happens - in reviews)
    JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #14

    Marvel
    X-MEN EMPEROR VULCAN #2

I debated long and hard about whether or not to get Death of the New Gods. Ultimately, I just can't support the killing of all these great characters.

    CHECKMATE #19
    COUNTDOWN 28
DEATH OF THE NEW GODS #1 (OF 8)

I dunno, I'm really looking forward to it. It's been awhile since we've really had a good New Gods story anyway, so I like seeing them all over the Countdown to Final Crisis DCU already.

Yeah, seeing the New Gods is great. Seeing them all die is bad.

I don't think you can. You've been saying this for what, 20 issues now?

I say it about once a month. And yeah, I'm lying to myself. I want to drop it, I really do. But DC just keeps hitting me over the head with the whole "This is really, really important!" thing. But so far every issue is basically the same damn thing: Donna, Jason, and Kyle show up on a new Earth; Piper and Trickster run; Jimmy Olsen tries to figure out why he has powers; Karate Kid and 33% of Triplicate Girl talk to people; Holly fights things in a toga; Mary Marvel acts evil and flashes her panties. That's it. There's almost no forward momentum on any of these plots, they just keep circling around and around, going nowhere. I want to stop reading, but I keep convincing myself that "this is it, this is the issue where something important will actually happen!" But I'm always wrong.

    I really hate Countdown.
