    does anyone know how this process works? i was just looking at an amazing spiderman 1 on ebay thats an 8.0 restored, but i dont really know what they do or how they do it....and wikipedia doesnt seem to have anything either....

    Depends on the defects. It could be restapling, page whitening, paper grafting, sticker/tape removal, colour touching, replacing missing parts with fabricated replacements or anything else along those lines.

    If it was done by a reputable outfit it should have somesort of certificate or document with it explaining who did the work and maybe what was done to it.

    oh, thanks yak....i figured it was something along those lines....i would rather have a 4.0 unrestored then an 8.0 restored though...it just seems like having it restored isn't as good...but then again, i guess its comparative to using repro stickers on a toy....its just a personal choice to purchase it....
