Is there one that anyone would recommend?
I haven't found an online comic price guide in years. Interesting enough though, comic shops have generally used Wizard since the 90s to price their books because of the prices generally are higher than those of Overstreet. Now that Wizard only prints a price guide for retailer incentive variants, I wonder if comic shops will start using Overstreet again.
How could I look up prices on my books?
I found this site. It seem to work pretty good. ComicsPriceGuide.com - The Online Price Guide
Coming from someone that has been in the comic industry for a very LONG time, believe me CPG is FAR from accurate. Just get an Overstreet, there is no REAL online comic price guide solution.
I am a co-administrator on a comic message board and a moderator at another one, I have 30+ years experience with an expertise in comic book grading.
I can give you a ball park value for almost any comic book if you need it. Drop me a PM if you need help. I'll gladly help you out. That goes for any one else as well.
Are they under or over?
Its not that they are under or over in any particular area, its that they aren't realistic.
If you were to try and actually sell your books for what they list as the actual value, you would pretty much get laughed at and left wondering why your books didn't sell.
Pretty much, when I worked in the comic shop, we gave 60% of the value for trade and 50% for cash. The highest we ever went in cash was 70%, but that book had to have been super hot at the time. Like, Ultimate Spider-man #1 when issue #25 was published hot.
I Took iron maniac up on his offer on Post #5 and he came through with a few comics that I had given him. He seems like a Good Guy. Give him a shot hes legit.
