Just thought this might be kinda fun. I'll start.

Ecto Cooler: If you're a child of the 80's or early 90's, you should know what this is. A dark green, orange and tangerine flavored Hi-C drink tie-in with Ghostbusters that lasted well beyond the popularity of the movies and cartoon.

I guess this flavor lasted through a couple name changes after they did away with Slimer on the box, and then got discontinued entirely a couple years ago. Maybe with the new Ghostbusters game and third movie coming out next year, we'll see the return of the almighty Ecto Cooler.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pudding Pies:
Came out in the early 90's (I think) as a movie tie-in. Made by Hostess, they were basically a Hostess pie with the shell colored green and filled with vanilla pudding. I really don't remember what they tasted like, but I sure loved them as a kid. Of course, you could have printed TMNT on a turd and I would've taken a bite.

Mr. Bones Candy: Assorted colored and flavored candy bones that came randomly in a plastic coffin. What was neat is that you could join them together to make a full skeleton. (which wouldn't fit back into the coffin though. Oh well) I'm not sure if they still make Mr. Bones today, but they did somewhat recently, although the coffin and skeleton design changed.

Powder-Filled Plastic Fruit: Little fruit-shaped plastic containers with corresponding flavored powder inside. I used to fill them up with water or soda and make a Kool Aid-esque drink with them, which...never came out any good, but hey, I liked it. I think you can still find these in dollar stores, but they'er just not the same.

What are some of your favorites? I'm hoping to be reminded of some things I've forgotten.

Resse's Pieces when E.T. came out. Hated em.

I was never in the gimmick/tie-in foods.
my nostalgia is based on quirky foods i came across as a kid.

like being exposed to Jelly Belly beans b/c of Reagan. Grandmother heard about him and those jelly beans and she bought me about 5 pounds of em. (no politics, i know, so that's all i am saying.)

Does anybody remember the cereal Ice Cream Cones?? They were little cones and little balls that were the ice cream. These things were hard as hell but good.

Anyone ever remember those little mini toy model kits of plastic airplanes or rubber Dougram robots that came with Smarties-like candy?

    Also,

    Candy cigarettes

    Gummy dinosaurs

    Fortune Cookie gum

    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cereal!

I used to love candy cigarettes! They weren't good but I loved pretending to smoke. Funny how I'm not a smoker now days. I also loved Big League Chew.

Here's more nostalgic cereals.... Pac-Man, Ghostbusters, the always nasty Nintendo cereal. It was half Super Mario Bros. and half Zelda...barf!

I grab gummy dinosaurs when I can, though I'm more a fan of gummy sharks (more like Haribo frogs than proper bears/worms, but so tasty). I know they still make candy cigarettes, but they call them candy sticks or something now.

The gum and cereal are news to me, though.

I remember one time of having a bubblegum cigarette... that had to be in the early 90s.

And... I think I may have had those gummy dinosaurs you mentioned.

Don't know what the actual brand name was, but there was candy in a robot shaped container. The hands were kinda spring-loaded plastic pinchers, except they used the tension of the plastic instead of actual springs. Flip open the top of the robot, and you had what was essentially sugar and food dye. Once the sugar-induced shakes were over from downing the contents, you had this cool robot that you could play with for 15-25 seconds until the inevitable emotional crash brought on by plummeting blood sugar crippled you.

Was it in fact a meal, and not merely a sandwich?

Being the classy elementary school kid that I was, I used to enjoy a can of 7UP gold back in the day after school on Fridays. It was like my moment of zen...if I knew what that meant back then.

    TMNT Cereal

oh and I saw some candy cigarettes a few years ago. I bought a few. They taste like chalk but it was fun.

I never eat at Taco Bell anymore. I used to like the Chicken Fiesta Gordita. It was the chicken, pico salsa and cheese. It was good. Then they took it off and just had hte nasty ass ones with sauces i hate. I haven't eaten Taco Bell in years probably.
