I was thinking about this the other night when I took apart my Energon saber team.

Is that 3 robots or 1?

Devestator... is that 6 robots or 1?

I know that Devestator is 1 robot and that those that make him up are each robots too. But what do you count them as in your collection roster... 1 or 6?

It's not a really serious question, but it got me thinking.

    Your thoughts?

If I was counting, I would only consider the Contructicons as 6 robots. I wouldn't count Devestator since he is just made up of the 6 smaller ones.

I count every piece of the combiner, even if it is combined.

If it has an individual personality and robot mode then count it, individual parts of combiners count but the duocons or skylinx count only as 1

That's what I work to as well. Individual robots are counted as individuals, but if they're integral to the main robot (like Polar Claw's bat drone or any of the city bots support units) they just get counted as a part of the whole.
Minicon sidekicks I count individually, which I admit is a contradiction.

I count Minicon teams as parts of one thing for collection counting purposes. Same goes for Minicons sold with TFs, Nebluans, Micromasters, and anything else like that.

I count minicons seperately because they aren't drones (as far as I know).
I don't count Nebulons 'cause they're from a different (non transformers) race (and in the Japanese version the headmasters bodies had no personality and where controlled by the heads)
I count combiners by their individual members so Devastator = 6, JRX = 3 etc.

I only count the individual robots in combiner teams, not the combined form. So Devastator is six, Menasor five, etc.

I only own a handful of minicons, and most of them came packaged with larger figures (Roots and Deadend, for instance... or the gun guys that come with all the Bendy Prime versions). In those cases I don't count them as individual figures. Same with Nebulans. But I just bought my first pack of free-standing minicons, and I think I'll count them as three separate figures.... it just seems right that way, for some reason.

For me if it has robot and alt mode by itself, then it gets counted seperately...So combiner parts are seperate. The only exception in my case is Targetmasters, I count both pieces as one.

Gestalt members have a seperate record in my list, and are counted seperately.
Groups released in one package, like Micromaster patrols or Mini-Con teams, get one record, but there's a behind the screens field in which I can indicate as how many I want to count them, so the total on top of the list represents that. I count MM patrols as 4, and MC teams as 3.

In my collection I count the combined form separately because in my mind the combiner is only complete is you have all the accessories to make the big robot whole...in other words, as a kid I had all the Technobots, but lost Computron's head and both feet, so I didn't have Computron per se. Hope that makes sense.

I count headmasters and powermasters as one, my lone targetmaster I'm currently counting as two, combiners I only count the members, and each of my micromasters and mini-cons count separately.

    demolishor=6
    so on and so forth
i count minicons too, even the partner minicons.. but i dont count omega supremes head as 1.

To me it just depends on what form they are in most of the time in my collection. Rail Racer, for instance, is hardly ever separated so he counts as one. Ruination and Landfill, when I still had them, were hardly ever combined so they counted as 5 and 4 respectively.
