I realised that if you get 6 of these you can give your combiner 8 arms!

Ah...I see. That can be fixed with some extenders, plus the hand can be flipped up.

It took the better part of a day, a good amount of filament, and some sanding, but I've finally got my Asura combiner!
He can't stand for crap. :p  As you can see in the last picture, the only way I got him into that pose is by leaning him against a wall. The backpack can no longer support the weight and pops out at the slightest movement, and it's a bear to get the arms into any position that doesn't knock into another.

Was it worth it? Fuck yeah, it was!

So that is one four arm backpack, with two splitters. You sir, have made every moment I worked on these worth it with but a single post. That is a magnificent monster. On the technical side, how is fit? and does the 4 arm swoop pack hold well with only two additional arms on it. Seriously, I have enabled the creation of a magnificent magnificent monster. However, seeing these, makes me think my idea to connect a set of arms at the ribcage area via the chest plate Fsculer designed will work really really nicely.

I think now we'll be able to get more decent robo-Shivas.

I posted on the backpack thread about how that went. In summary, it sticks! But Volcanicus can't support the weight on his own. Still looks awesome though!
As for this adapter alone, it works very nicely. This updated version is far more willing to let go of the combiner pegs but still holds them in place nicely. The Universal Joint is perfect, as you can attach it in any orientation.

Now, as for using the two sets in tandem, I did have to do some sanding. The Peg on the universal connector seems to be ever so slightly larger than the pegs on the limb-bots (But not enough to get them stuck in a body-bot). Meanwhile, the boxes on the backpack are ever so slightly smaller than the boxes on the body-bots (But not enough for limbs to get stuck) As one may surmise, this resulted in a problem in that the peg on the universal connector is too large for the box on the backpack.
I personally believe it is of little concern, as it can be fixed by simply sanding/filing away some plastic (as one can see by the images). I would also say that another reason I feel this is because I doubt many are crazy enough to replicate it, but yet, I was crazy enough to make it in the first place, so why wouldn't anyone else be?

Overall, I recommend both sets! They don't take long to print, and allow for a lot of fun possibilities!

(P.S. Tossing the idea out there because I can't do it: Archangel Volcanicus. Do something like I did for Asura Volcanicus, but use 4 Swoops, and extend their wings.)

Don't forget that the Perfect Effect upgrade kit has ratcheted feet, so standing will be far easier when it arrives.

So if used in tandem, the solidity won't be an issue.

Thanks for the info. I'm glad I could make these. They seem to be as much fun as I had hoped. I hope the guys who asked for them are pleased. I will try to get the universal splitter up on to Shapeways today for those without printers. It shouldn't be too cost prohibitive since 2/3 of it is hollow.

I could see White CW OP, being turned into a great combiner with this.

edit - removed the meme, had no idea what it meant :(

    Ew! Get pedobear outta here!

Also apparently it doesn't work with CW Optimus without extenders.

How might someone without a 3d printer get a hold of these?
Will you be uploading to Shapeways?

Yes, I saw that, and apparently the arms have to be angled odd to get a decent pose.

    Not gonna stop me though.

I don't have that figure, would extending the ports help? or extending the tab that connects to prime?
