I like the black feet, black hands, but p a biterhaps some small highlights on the hands of another color?

I like the black feet go well with the torso, and give some contrast to high brigher colors so he doesnt turn into like retina burning colors etc (like sentinel prime, great toy molding and details, but lacking in highlights etc)

If you look at classic characters (super robots and super heroes etc) and costumes, they usually have 1-2 dominant colors and a few highlights, to give greater contrast than say too few or too many colors.

I like the black feet, but with highlights of same or opposite limb from option 5 (last box)

    One idea:

highlights of black feet, from the opposite limb, that show up like lights / energon glow look etc.

I know my pics (of your pics) look like shit, but i dont have any proper image software, you have to use your imagination.

If you imagine veins or arteries, but with an energon glow to them, thats the look im getting at.

personally i like option 5 the most as a concept. leave the majority of the foot silver but pick out a lot of the specific details in the corresponding colors. go a bit further with the concept rather than ONLY what you put in the picture for option 5 though

Looks pretty good. Having said that, I think his thighs look a bit stumpy. I bring this up, though I guess it's a bit of a non-conflict when Steam Shield has combiner extender bits on Shapeways to fix that (unless you're planning to make ratcheting knees that put the tank shins sideways like the G1 version.) Speaking of SW, will this kit be available on Shapeways at some point?

I was wondering if you are going upload this to your shapeways?

This looks awesome. I wonder if Takara may do this, seeing as they Strive for show accuracy.

Hey, thanks for these mockups, very nice ideas much appreciated!

Thanks for the thoughts....actually at this point I STILL haven't had a chance to paint them, hopefully soon...

    Thank you sir!

At this point I am unlikely to release this on Shapeways as I had to mod it extensively to make it work...

    Indeed, my hopes as well...

    Many thanks!

Are you going to paint some PE feet to match this beauty or stay with the slippers/snow-shoes/tennis racket feet (which don't look that bad).

Stunning work. Glad I was able to be some inspiration. If this goes on shapeways I may have to order a set so I can successfully incorporate all 6 bots

This is so damn good! At a glance I feel maybe the head is slightly too big or the legs too short in combined mode. It is truly fantastic though; well done :D

"The problem is I made a lot of changes to the original design, so the CAD no longer matches. So unfortunately at this point I don't have plans to make this a kit...PLUS...the 3D printing cost was insane--I don't think anyone would buy one."

Would you be willing to share the cad for a small fee? I would like to give this a try myself.

^^^Same as the ones above me. I have access to a 3D Printer at work. I would gladly pay for the file and print it myself.

Thanks for the interest, guy, really appreciate it.

I sincerely feel bad about sharing "half done" CAD...but I do like sharing to the community...need to think about what's best here for everyone....let me ponder this...
