Once EE sells out, you likely won't see them at this sale price again. Takara has been mum on the Kaiser, unless you're super attached to the cartoon team I'd say go for it now.

 

Liokaiser is great! I was all over it for the color scheme.

I think if we were going to see a Takara version we would have gotten it by now.

 

I dunno man. That's genuinely a hard question to answer. I think they're really nice, and I love the work they've done to the molds, but they're not a premium product, deco wise, like you'd expect from Takara. If you can get 'em cheap (I got 'em in an online sale by a UK retailer) go for it. Worst comes to worst you can always sell 'em on. I think they're uncommon and desirable enough that you could make your money back. And who knows, Takara may never get round to relasing a version.

 

I find even with Hasbro toys taking a marker to add little details helps a lot ...E.g. I always paint the wheels. Sometimes it's just easier o buy the Hasbro version and just add custom paints.

I never touch up the takara versions because there is no need.

 

If the only reason you're holding out for Takara is because it may have a dual torso...then you're probably better off waiting. This would likely feel like settling for you.

If you like CW enough that you wouldn't mind doubling up (or tracking down the differences between the two sets) then it's worth the $70 it's going for these days.

I don't care much for the setup, I just kinda would like having all six OG members.

I refuse to accept that Takara would do Wildrider, Quickslinger, Deluxe Groove, big-drill Nosecone, shuttle Blast-Off, and then let Hasbro take all the glory with LK.

They've got *all* of the molds save for the dual torso. And now that Hasbro revealed Duocons are in play with Battletrap it seems like they're hinting that they've figured out how to build a stable combination scheme for something like that.

Found a Silverbolt at my local Goodwill Outlet missing his gun and shield with a weirdly broken tail fin. Need to do some part swapping with
my spare Scattorshot, add some paint, and fix the tail and we've got my take on Magnaboss for my head cannon universe.

As the Great Cybertron War draws on the Decepticons are mastering Combiners. The new and improved Menasor and Bruticus prove this by destroying Superion and Defensor. Fortunately Autobot medics are able to save Silverbolt, Rook, Alpha Bravo, Streetwise, and Air Raid. These five Autobot under go an upgrade based on stolen Decepticon plans and, dawning the new names Sliverwing, Ironshell, Air Hammer, Prowler, and Airazor, merge to form the mighty Magnaboss!

The two torso bots are from the TFC Hades combiner, the limbs are Combiner Wars.

 

looks sweet how did you get it all combined I'm guessing shapeways?

There's still a bit I need to do before it's finished. I've got a 2nd Fellbat coming in that I need to part swap with Guyhawk to get symmetrical jet arms, as well as a larger drill and better Gepard tank parts. I might just end up buying the full TFC set just to display him with the proper Breast Animals and weapons also... crazy, I know   But he needs to fit within the CW/UW play pattern.
