Anyone who bought him off of eBay and received that ridiculously fast DHL shipping that took days instead of weeks, could you please point me in the direction of the eBay listing you bought it from? I'm willing to pay, but if I'm paying that much, I want it in this lifetime. lol

 

I got mine from Amazon. Fast too, like a week.

Stating the obvious - but the main thing I see how is that the official toy could have used less paint and plastic colors, and looked a fuckload better if the torso looked more like the palette of this sweet custom.

 

The tracking number didn't show up on eBay (it was the standard shipping $29.99) but they emailed it to me. The weird thing is that no one had to sign for it, even though the alert said I had to. I'm pretty sure they handed it over to the post office to deliver.

 

Now why didnt hasbro do that?!!!!

 

I suppose because they had ploughed so much money into developing the Sky Lynx figure and desperately needed to get another use out of it in order to defray/amortise the initial tooling costs. With only two other versions available (CW and UW Sky Lynx), it was by a considerable margin the least-used Voyager mould in the entire line.

I agree the Cyclonus repaint/retool is a better fit for Liokaiser, but I have 11 different copies of that figure already (UW, CW and G2 Silverbolt, CW Silverbolt with Botcon Magnaboss stickers, UW and CW Cyclonus, UW and 2 x CW Scattorshot, Botcon Seaclamp) and I could do without another.

Also, Liokaiser is a relatively unfamiliar figure in the West - whilst there are a lot of Japanese G1 fans out there, to the majority of the fandom he doesn't elicit nearly the same emotional or nostaglic attachment that you'd get from a Menasor or a Defensor. Swapping the torso for Dezsarus seems to have garnered far less fan-rage than Jet Blast-Off or Alpha Bravo did a year or two ago.

honestly, i am so sick of the Silverbolt-base torso that i am perfectly happy they went a different direction.

 

I have (including pre-orders) four copies of Silverbolt, four of OP and five of Onslaught/Hot Spot. More Sky Lynx, please!

 

So, I want Sky Lynx and need new copies of Hound, First Aid and Wheeljack. I need to get a new computer, too. What do you guys think, should I get Unite Warriors Lynxmaster?

I really don't like Takara Hound's deco, but Ratchet would fit the role of medic in place of First Aid and Wheeljack genuinely looks better than the Hasbro release. I'll still need a Prowl and Sunstreaker after this.

Glad to hear it was a good experience. I think I'm going to buy one of the sets. Part of me wants to wait and see what Takara does, because clearly they had a hand in these remolds and must have something planned, but... I really, really want this set.

 

The seller doesn't necessarily have to upload it on Ebay/Paypal, they just need to have proof of tracking though to show it got delivered. Obviously though it's less hassle though when the buyer uploads it into the system.
