I think it'd be much easier to mod a combiner socket into say, Cyb. Clocker for Streetwise, and Overhaul/Brushguard for First Aid.

    Blades and Arcee are good.

Don't know about Barricade, but I guess there aren't many options.

Actually, thinking about it, Arcee technially has a combiner port already built in. Given Arcee doesn't weigh much, the energon star thing couls be used as the combiner joint.

I agree with not using the tank for the policecar though, if only because while it would be relatively easy to replace the tread wings with a car shell, it would make him a shell-former, and having to change his feet into a car bonnet would mean the underside of the feet wouldn't be flat anymore, so it would be hard for him to stand.

Energon Arcee as Groove is a pretty good idea, also, just to share, I came across this Computron custom by bkbear113 of HK-TF forums:

Had me wondering what molds would be suitable to make the other combiners.

well, the star port isn't very strong and you could probably make a "kibble free" combiner by modifying the energon weapon into a foot. as for streetwise, maybe a heavily modified rotf/classics air raid?

    Combiner thoughts

Oddly enough I'm working on a Defensor right now.
As of this point I've got the Universe/classics Blades that's a repaint of Evac and a TF:RotF Clocker who has been repainted into Streetwise.
The molds I'm missing and will be hunting at botcon are
a Towline for First Aid (originally was going to be Ratchet and Ironhide but was too small in scale to my other toys)
a Brakedown for Groove (alright, so he becomes a tryke, but I like the scale and robot mode;)
and a yellow Fire Convoy (RID) for Hot Spot to make him easier to paint.

I've also got a... well I honestly forget WHAT this toy is. it's not a TF, but a big single mode robot, just over a foot tall. Good stiff joints on him. I'll be using his shoulders, hips and knees as well as Fire Convoys 'super' mode parts for gesalt parts... and hopefully also be using Towlines 'repair station boogy board' as well.

I do like the idea of using a Barricade though, I'll have to look into that one
May I ask what you'll be using to make the gesalt mode joints and combiner ports and how they'll be stored when seperated? Right now I'm ending up with a pile of spare parts that I may just have the 'big three' carry around. :S

best joints = Lego ratcheting joints. You can find them on Exo-Force, Power Miners and Lego Knights.
