Maybe I'm an idiot or I don't know what I'm looking for, but I can't find it.

And people think the color schemes Hasbro uses sometimes are hideous.

this prime was given away to the one person who won the coloring competition of this prime-that person chose the colors for the prime-not takara.

Actually, that TV Magazine page says 10 people win the Original Color G1 Convoy. So this is 1 of 10.

    So ugly, yet so beautiful.

thanks also might gaine. thier numbers are pretty misleading, and i have never seen any of the magazines that show off the ld's. plus I cant read japanese either, so thats pretty much all I have to go on. Or I go to hydra/black gears or you.

I never said I was talking about Takara choosing the colors, did I? I'm actually talking about the kid who designed the nasty thing, and how this compares to the occasional "ugly" Hasbro repaint that couldn't possibly appeal to anyone, not even children...

We updated the figures for that competition as well as two others this morning.

For many of the figures we had to go by the most common numbers from several sources, when we first did the site, as we did not have access to the magazines or scans.

The site does say that the figures are not 100% accurate and we've tried to correct the figures / information once we see published details.

If anyone has copies / scans of the magazines that they can send us so we can update the numbers, that would be great. We're trying to get more back issues of TV Magazine, TV Boy and Hyper Hobby, but its proving difficult.

The only toy that we know of, that was published as being limited to one, is the colouring contest Galaxy Convoy, as the articles we scanned in clearly say 1 piece.

Any magazines that we own(ed) that ran competitions for the Lucky Draws were scanned in and added to the galleries. The exception is the clear Sixshot article, as we only picked that up from Nakano Broadway at the start of the month.

Trying to prove the exact numbers is very difficult, which is why we originally listed the number of people that owned the toy per country (once they contacted us or we saw a sale on one of several auction sites). We decided to drop this as it is impossible to keep it accurate, due to sales.

We know that figures like "five for the gold Micron Jetfire" are probably wrong, as we've seen more than 5 toys, but that figure was the most commonly quoted figure around the time that the competition took place.

What we'll do is to amend the DB to include a "published quantity" which we will use to flag if the quantity value listed against the toy has been confirmed either in print (magazine / official book / TakaraTomy website) or by Takara. All other numbers will be referred to as "reported quantity".

Again, if anyone has scans of the magazines that can help correct the figures, please let us know.

Many of the numbers have come from Hydra, both directly and via his old TFPulp site, as have several of the confirmations. TFPulp and Fan2Fan are/were two of the most accurate sources for Japanese magazine reports, where as a lot of the western sites figures and information just do not match.
