I wanted to update my collection showcase and am debating on whether to take photos, or do a video. I've never done a video and thought it might be cool to try.

    What do you guys think?

If you can hold the camera steady, go for it.

I personally don't like collection videos. Pictures are way easier and faster to look through.

    Photo's period.

I will lay down an challenge to find three good quality videos of collections(3 diff peoples collections) that don't make you want to throw up by the time your done watching them.

I see video and don't bother looking most of the time.

Most videos I've seen on collection, were not even edited. Hand was shaking, making video blury,
Onless you make something different, meaning, cool and steady sure I guess, but I won't watch it.

I skip videos about collection. However I love looking at photos!

I haven't seen any collection videos, but there's not harm in giving it a shot.

I prefer looking at photo galleries of collection pics.

I don't like watching collection videos for the same reason others cited: unless the camera is mounted on a tripod with a slow pan over shelves and such, it's usually blurry and fairly unwatchable.

I think videos work better to showcase hauls, so you can "reveal" each item to the camera and do commentary at the same time.
