What do you consider your TF collection to be? For me, it depends. 99.99999% of the time, they sit on my shelves, but, when I get stressed, and I feel like i can't calm down, I take a few off the shelf and transform them, giving my mind something to focus one for a few seconds. So, would you consider them collectibles or toys?

To me, both. Although I guess it depends on the line.

I would say my collection is about 80% toys, 20% collectibles. Just my interpretation.

However, it doesn't mean collectibles can't be played with ;)

There's been a few threads asking the same question. As I stated before, they are all toys that I enjoy to collect and don't need a label to feel good about spending money on toys, :) .

I think some are more geared toward the collectibles market/with adult collectors in mind e.g. Alternators/Binaltech, MPs and Human Alliance...

that doesn't mean kids can't enjoy them as well, but I think those lines are clearly marketed at an older person.

Are they still toys? Well, some people refer to sound systems or flashy cars as "toys", so if the definition is "something you can play with and have fun with" - then they're all toys.

    I see it this way-
If it has moderate articulation= Toy
If it has little to no articulation = Collectible

I consider them more collectibles. However, my wife calls me a "big kid" when it comes to my Transformers. So I guess they're considered 100% toys by outsiders... :)
