This is my first custom and my first real shot at painting anything. Posted this at Hisstank.com, though I thought I might share it here as well. I downloaded a H.I.S.S. blueprint online and used MS Paint to substitute the colors until I found a scheme I liked.

- Used a black 25th H.I.S.S. tank/driver
- Metallic purple acrylic paint and a chrome paint pen
- Combination of packed-in and custom stickers.

Decided to go with a "8284" to commemerate the 1982 and 1984 launch of ARAH and G1 in the US. I'll have another custom coming soon since I had so much fun doing this one. Nowhere as nice as some of the contest entries at Hisstank.com (especially since I didn't customize any parts), though I really like the way it turned out.

 

Nice! What is the purple called that you used? It's very cool!

 

yes I really like that purple, and its sad how hard it is to find a stock color of purple paint that's pretty and not too dark.   I'm still waiting to see one of these made from Universe Onslaught.

 

I used DecoArt "Dazzling Metallics Elegant Finish" Purple Pearl, Bought from Michaels Crafts in a 2 oz container.

Yeah, it is a water based acrylic. Ran for under $3.00 I believe.
