I prefer old consoles like nes, snes, genesis for that. Most consoles today are to focused on online co-op. for a good modern I like the halo games or go Nintendo and get new Mario bro and dk country returns.

Nothing like good old Halo. Any of those games are really fun to play on co-op. I still play that on my original Xbox from time to time, it's a blast.

Me and my friends only play splitscreen co-op games all the time. Gears of War, Halo 3, Halo Reach, Resident Evil 5, Call of duty Black Ops zombies, but we've yet to play Army of two

    Portal 2.

Black Ops zombies is fun with friends but after awhile you'll get irritated by the imbeciles who play online (it can be difficult getting far with only two people).

some good ol' 2k games? Fuck Infinity Ward

Halo is so much fun to play with a friend, Fable 2 can also be great, if you can bear the terrible screen controls that come with co-op play, Fable 3's a lot better but the game isn't as good

OH OH OH OH OH OH! I Can name a BAZILLION games for this!

There is the obvious bunch everyone has mentioned such as Borderlands (very good one, it will waste many hours with you and your friend).

Alright, here goes, and yes, all games mentioned ARE split screen

-Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction, (co-op stealth action!)

    -Lost Planet 2

    -Rainbow Six Las Vegas 2

    -Castle Crashers

    -Every fricken Halo game

-Apache Air Assault is interesting as one player is the pilot, and the other is the gunner, both players are in the same cockpit

Hm, thats about all I can think about co-op split screen wise.
