Is this Comic-Con? Fans debate 'mainstream' panels - CNN.com Thought it was an interesting read. I had no idea it started bringing stuff that pretty much has nothing to do with comics/manga/anime/toys. I can see it definitely helps business by bringing in mainstream stuff but I do feel that I don't want to go to one anymore because it's not focusing on what I particular love. I think I'd rather go to WonderCon in SF which is pretty much SDCC's little sister convention. I've been to that one numerous times and never felt the mainstream element got out hand.
