Hello everyone,

Pete@Botcon has just put up a preview of what the next Transformers Club magazine will contain! In addition to telling us that the magazine will contain interviews, and pictures, of a couple toys not seen on the Internet so far, he has also given us a picture of one of the new Transformers coming out! And this one we haven't had a picture of yet either!

Dude, you can report on what he's telling us, you just can't repeat it word-for-word or show the picture.

Anyways, for those who aren't club members:

-This upcoming issue will preview a lot of 25th anniversary toys. The image is of the never-before-seen Universe Smokescreen repaint, who will premiere in Wave 2 of 2009. Also listed as appearing in the issue are Universe BW Dinobot, Hot Shot w/ Jolt, Robot Heroes Prowl vs. Laserbeak, Wave 2 2009 Legends, Mighty Muggs, and 2 other unnamed Robot Heroes sets from that same wave.

 

Sounds awesome. Nice to hear we'll definitely be getting a Universe Smokescreen. A Legends Warpath was in a listing a while ago, so no surprise there. It's also going to be nice to eventually see a picture of Hot Shot. It usually isn't too long after their shown in the Club Magazine that the rest of the internet gets some kind of picture of them. Would be cool if Hasbro did what they did last time, and put up some prototype pictures on their website.

Sounds good to me. Wasn't expecting for any pictures of Dinobot to be ready, but that's a nice little surprise. I wander what the other two RH packs are. I'm guessing one of them is the RID Optimus Prime vs. Megatron set.

 

What mold is the smokescreen repaint?

 

So, is it forbidden for club members to describe what Smokescreen looks like? Does he have his G1 colours, or have we just got 1 base colour with a load of rally car style sponsor stickers painted on it like Alternator Smokescreen

 

Smokescreen could definitely use more blue and less red.

 

G1 colors, VERY close approximation-- repaint of the Universe Silverstreak mold, no mold alterations I can see (though the pic is of his robot mode).

 

Sorry!   I always figured, better safe than sorry!   Any way, like I said on the club boards, I'll be looking forward to reading the interview with Susan Blu, and seeing the toys of Dinobot and Warpath!  

As for Smokescreen, he looks great! He seems to be a straight repaint of Sliverstreak, as far as I can tell. His paint job came out very nicely though!   I think I'm looking forward to seeing Dinobot the most though.

 

Red chest and forearms, front of feet/shins are red. Blue hands, sides of shins, elbows, and the "knee" like bumper piece. Doors are top half white, bottom half blue, with the 38 sticker on it. Crotch is black with the center triangle painted yellow. Upper legs and part of forearms are silver. Head is blue with front...thingies yellow.

 

Smokescreen looks awesome!!

 

Boy, don't I feel like a chump. I was right in the middle of doing a Smokescreen digibash when this shows up. Now I know how Jizaitoys must feel...

Having said that, I'm still glad Hasbro made the logical move repainting the Prowl mold as Smokescreen. Yet another Classic to add to my collection.  

 

Where are the pics?

 

Only TFCC members can see them (not sure if you are or not), but as usual this is a sign that it won't be too long till the rest of us on the interwebs gets to see some pictures of these guys. I'd give it anywhere from a week up to a month before either Hasbro puts some pictures up on their site, we get some prototype images from some other site, or we somehow get some official pictures. That and we'll see the cover image tomorrow, as they usually put that up for everybody to see. It might have something new for us to look at.

 

The one pic of Smokescreen's robot mode is in the club forum.

Pumped to hear about BW Dinobot

 

Yeah - I'm definitely happy. Hasbro is really getting in the G1 mood these days. Overkill and Dragstrip were especially surprising (happy surprises, I would add).
