Has anyone thought about the fact that you can combine Nightbeat with Ironhide, Ratchet, etc?  

 

A valid point, although as always, I caution against conflating the club and the convention. At the end of the day, this isn't really any different than having Nightbeat combine with any standard Energon Autobot. He can do it, sure, but it's more a happy accident than anything intentional on the part of FP.

 

I miss his ears. Didn't that solicitation for the Club comic with Nightbeat, Siren, and the Dinobots feature this "Classics Nightbeat" with the antennae in place?

What's the reason behind the color scheme?

The shade of blue is far lighter than the original G1 figure, the animated version of him, and the Marvel Comics depiction.

I would like to own a well-articulated, detailed Nightbeat figure. Given that details are lacking and this mold has limited articulation, I'm somewhat disappointed.

 

Nightbeat got animated? In one of the commercials, right?

I dunno, that blue seems to match the original toy's shade pretty well...

 

The rumor is that the toy WAS designed with antennae, but that the factory had trouble making it fit with the transformation, and rather than try to make it work, just lopped them off without talking to FP about it until the product was essentially done.

No official word, yet, though.

 

So in essence, the overseas factory guys castrated Nightbeat?

I've never bought the crappy Club or Convention figures and I'm not gonna start now.

 

But I don't think people realize, the club people didn't make him ugly. This is not like some LAWL G2 COLORZ random BS.

He was that ugly with bad colors in G1.

He had that exact vehicle mode in G1.

His robot mode looked like that in G1.

The character design may be ugly but the figure is a great representation of the horrible character. But guess what? That character somehow was a big part of the Marvel days and the IDW universe *AND* had a spotlight so it does make sense to see a club exclusive of him, especially if he starts showing up as a detective in other club series.

I love what the club has done here, and I hope it sells well to encourage them to more like this. Nightbeat is a great character that really deserved a homage (and to think, I never really knew much about him until IDW's spotlight motivatd me to learn more).

Unfortunately, I don't think that I can bring myself to buy that mold again.

Now, the news that has me the most excited is the preview of the shattered glass set starting on Monday. Any guesses on the first mold to be revealed? It'll probably be Razorclaw.

Rip off in price? Well, he is produced in much lower numbers than any retail store Transformer toy, which increases the production cost.

Nightbeat is supposed to have an orange face.
