It looks like some kinda mutated shrimp, quick get the BBQ! The one in the movie looked way better...
he looks way too thin...i thought he looked way bulkier in the movie... i too am let down, though even if i had been blown away, 100 bucks is too high for my budget right now anyway...
LOL! Last time I saw Cloverfield, I don't remember Gan Q rampaging through New York alongside Clover. Not sure what I think yet. Sure, he looks decent, but $100 decent? I think there may be some heft missing here that I saw in the film, but on the other hand, it looks like his "ear" bubble-things may actually be articulated! And yet, they don't appear to be red at all. This monster toy is full of contradictions.
Well, once again, HTS photographers fail at correctly posing a figure. I want to see it in different poses. That head sculpt does look nice though.
It's more like the roaring head has them puffed out while the mellow one has them flat. It also looks like there is hidden articulation within the torso itself. The shoulders don't match up, positionwise, between the two pics. It most likely has a fals-skin body over an internal skeletal structure. I'm sure once we get better pics of him, with something to compare it with, it'll look much better. ...but I'll wait till we get some reviews before dropping a buck on it.
I was expecting him to be a little bit chunkier; I don't remember him being that thin, and I saw it for the second time today. Still, headsculpt is really nice, and it looks like he's quite articulate. It's hopefully just the crap pose that makes him underwhelming. Shame there's no images of the parasites; those little dudes will hopefully look as nasty as they did in the film.
It's not just the switching heads that I meant - there almost seems to be a seam around one of the parts of his head. Of course, these pictures aren't going to do Clover any favors.
Haha, oh wow that looks awful. I thought it was supposed to look, you know, menacing and impressive and HUGE. That only looks frail and small. Well, whatever, I didn't even see the movie, I was only wondering what the monster looked like.
That is not worth $100, I don't care if oil prices have gone up... What, are Deluxe Transformers going to be $35-50 a piece, now?
That doesn't even look like the monster. The monster had long arms, yes, but not THAT long. Plus, it walked on it's knuckles, had a much longer tail, a much more bulky appearance, etc. Though I have to admit it's not the monster itself that is scary; more like how they're building up the tension with each scene it's in. EDIT: Also, it's missing it's lowest set of limbs, inbetween the arms on it's chests and the legs (fins of some kind from what I saw).
Wow, thats not what I was expecting. Perhaps Hasbro might be making some smaller figures. Maybe some accurate figures even. I just hope that its not fake-real-feel-skin with an articulated skeleton underneath. I also hope the other head isnt as awesome as this one, and that this is the final version. If only for the sake of my poor wallet.
Yeah, HTS photogs suck. See most TF pictures, especially the mistransformed ones. The white background doesn't work well for this fig. The fig should be darker in color and a little more bulky. Glad I can save some money!
Maybe it will look better in person; I tend to agree that their photographer sucks. I wonder how long until it goes on clearance. 50 bucks I would buy it.
I just said "THAT'S IT?!?!?!!?" out loud. at top volume. in my office. lamesauce. makes me feel better about the director's shakeycam decision to NOT show the monster in the movie.
YES. This figure MIGHT look less lame with an actual good pose. or better backdrop. or anything. awful pix.
I want a pic that properly shows it's scale. I mean, this thing is 14 INCHES TALL, yet it looks like a Marvel Legends scaled figure in here.
