Funny, the strange nods you can find in Animated.

Did anyone notice that when in Predacons Rising, Blackarachnia pushes the buttons of the trasnwarp generator, they sound the notes that were used in Close Encounters of the Third Kind?

Wonder if that's intentional or a coincidence...

I read somewhere that the tune was actually "More Than Meets the Eye." I'll have to go back and listen for myself though.

It's most likely coincidence, as sound effects are often reused among certain shows. (they're just general sound effects)

Wow, I can already see Transformers being taken and brought back years later looking the same, not a repaint in years!

I'll have to check that one out, didn't really pay attention to it.

I thought it sounded kind of familar...but I'm not entirely sure that it was Close Encounters.

from the way someone described the sound on another thread it sounded more like the Beverly Hills Cop theme:p

    Guys.

    Seriously.

It was not the G1 transition noise, and it was not a coincidence.

It was the friggin' tune from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". It's an iconic, unmistakeable five-beat rhythm that was quite clearly included on purpose.

    Gahd.
