I saw it yesterday. I think it's pretty good, but the whole Clone Wars thing has kind of been done to death. I want to see what happens between Ep 3-4.
The Clone Wars was covered perfectly well by the cartoon, IMO. I'd rather see what happens between the prequels and the Holy Trilogy too.
That's *supposedly* (according to Lucas anyway, but who can believe what he says these days?) what the live action show is going to be.
I have to say Yoda looks pretty meh
I wanna see remakes of the original trilogy in prequel quality.
*Prepares for flames*
This man speaks the truth.
I think there are plenty of Clone Wars stories to tell. Episode III takes place three years after II and a lot can happen in three years. How'd Anakin get his scar (saw it in the comic but still...)? How did Ventress survive? Will they tell Grievous' story? He's got a pre-cyborg action figure coming out so it's possible. What's Boba Fett been up to? I'd love to see him hunting down clone troopers because he sees them as poor imitations of his father (does he even know he's a clone?).
I thought Boba was Jango's biological son, and not a clone...?
(of course originally he was someone else totally, but Lucas decided to throw out the entire Expanded Universe)
He's an unmodified clone.
Is that live action show dead? Lucas was on Conan and when asked about bring Star Wars to TV he only mentioned this.
Wow, I don't know what this is, but I'm interested. Neat CGI.
OK, WTF? The page loads and I get nothing. Everything is on the page, but there's no trailer. Just an image of the Jedi Temple Archives that says "Please make a selection"
Ok..So lets say I don't follow Star Wars at all..I've seen the movies, own the dvd's, bout it..So what exactly is going on then? Is he done making movies about it? Is he just going to let the franchise continue in games and books and toys etc? Does anyone know what the next big leap will be for the Star Wars thing?
There won't be any new movies, although the six films we've already got will be upgraded for things like 3D IMAX, high definitition and eventually a mega box set. Episodes I-III will probably get the Special Edition treatment and Episodes IV-VI will get more work done. Hopefully he'll also remaster the original films for future releases, since that's what everybody really wants. The ones we got last year were just copies of the Japanese laser disc set and nobody bought them, which is why the box set hasn't been announced yet. There are 2 new computer animated series in the works - the Clone Wars one, which this is the trailer for, and one that bridges the gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. There will also be new video games, books, toys, comics and collectibles. The Star Wars franchise isn't going anywhere.
And Lucas changing anything in the movies he wants. I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, but I still think thats bullshit.
It already did. For years. And it was supposed to be canon.
Right up until Lucas decided to discount the entire thing in favour of 3 pathetically bad prequel movies.
One big giant MEH from me. Some very valid points have already been raised (the cartoon already covering this ground). I mean come on, we already know what happens to all these characters, before (during in some cases) and after the CW. It just seems that Lucas is intent on creating a series with little to no dramatic tension. Oooh Dooku and Anakin fight....so what, we all know nothing truly important can happen to either of them. Although I wouldn't put some crazy retcon past Lucas at this point. Admittedly I'm not much of a Star Wars fan, but it just seems as of late (since say 97ish) that it's a cool universe that keeps getting crapped on by its creator, constantly testing the patience of its fans.
(and I don't think the animation looks all that hot either)
I'll watch that. Though I'm hoping for more story & character development.
