Can't wait to see it. I tryed today but the audio was busted so I got a refund and will see it tomarrow. Cool thing was the ticet was only four bucks.
I saw it today, and thought it was pretty good. It wasn't quite as funny as the original, but then I knew it wouldn't be. Without saying any specific spoilers, the story was a nice way to end the whole View Askew continuity, much better than Jay and Silent Bob did. Plus, the kid obsessed with Transformers was fun to watch. Randall (mockingly) even calls him a Go-Bot at one point! I always felt Go-Bots were a ripoff of Transformers, but the show was sometimes entertaining (the toys sucked though). Bottom line, if you liked Clerks, or any of Kevin Smith's other films in the New Jersey saga (Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back), then you'd probably like Clerks II also.
Staying even for the credits was worth it. I didn't care about hte Myspace 10,000 people part, but in the little extra thanks and wahtevers they put in, he even admited Jersey Girl sucked.
Dude. I've always been a huge Jay and Silent Bob film, so of course I saw Clerks II opening day. And I was sitting there, in my Transformers shirt watching, and there was tons of Transformers bashing dialogue. So yeah... It was a great movie by the way.
Saw this movie today, pretty good if you ask me. Never been a huge Kevin Smith fan, Hell, never even seen the original Clerks but I thought this flick was pretty good, and funny as Hell too.
Yeah, in a self indulgent Kevin Smith kinda way. Plus if you've had the pleasure of working a similarly shitty job, several of the jokes are pretty much spot on.
heres the thing. clerks was probably funny if it was the 1st time youve seen a kevin smith feature. then, it was a novelty. but really, at best, it was seminal and i dont really think its aged well. (i worked in the service line prior to uni so i get the jokes) in the end, clerks was just a series of sketches and the feel was amateurish. i dont know how it stands up with, say, chasing amy, which is probably the only honest and decent movie he'd done. and to think he used to be up for superman returns.
I saw it yesterday and I thought it was pretty funny, not too bad, and surprisingly enough...even had a bit of heart in it. I went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The use of a TF geek was hilarious, and Randal's snide comments were riotous as well. And I just loved the whole LOTR vs Star Wars arguement. There were some dome parts, or WTF parts, but I thought all in all this one was WORLDS better than that Jay and Bob crap, and as someone else put, a much better way to close up the view askew universe.
I just saw Clerks II last night and I have to say it was hilarious... One of the funniest parts was Randal making fun of the guy and his love for Transformers. My wife and friends kept looking at me and laughing at me during it but I still found it hilarious. I just thought I would mention this before someone else sees it and gets offended. Remember folks, we're geeks... some of us more than others... but we are and it's ok to laugh at that.
