So I've painted up a Sideswipe with Tamiya acrylic paints. Is it okay to clear it with a flat lacquer? Its Testors Dullcote, if that helps.

No. Will make your acrylic paint dissolve. It will work on a fully cured Enamel, but to be on the safe side, coat it in a clear gloss varnish. I use Humbrol, you might want to thin it down though.

Well crap. Is there a flat spray clear acrylic that anybody can recommend? Or I guess I can just brush on a thin coat of the Future floor polish, it doesn't get TOO glossy with just the one coat.

If you thin down the Future FLoor Polish, it won't be too glossy on the first coat. But that's just what I read. Many here use that stuff and they're all overly enthousiastic about it.

Just go to the cleaning supplies isle in just about any store and you should find it. I find my supply at Wal-Mart in the same section as Pine-Sol.

Yes, you can use Krylon clear matte, flat, or satin finish over testors, or tamiya acrylics.

    Thanks!

just for fun I tried the future polish over the corvette body pieces of Sideswipe. Gives it a showroom shine with minimal brush strokes, I'm impressed.
