I know Optimus Scourge posted this just a few days ago, but I went a step further and removed ALL of the weathering. ALL. I thought it was worth starting another thread.

As you can see, the nose is blue. It was BLUE under all of that silver and grey crap! The blue nose is really needed to balance the blue tail. The weathering isn't missed. And the thruster covers look SO nice not being silver. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Wait, so that's not a paint job? Just rub off the silver with rubbing alcohol and the nose is blue?! Hot damn!

Huh. Never caught that. I never bothered to look, since I never figured the nose cone would be blue under that.

That looks excellent. Just the good ol' rubbing alcohol? I'll be sure to do the same when I get one.

Your pictures look great too. Something about the lighting really brings out the color in Starscream. I'd love to see you do a full gallery.

Did using the rubbing alcohol on those areas remove line detailing etc... as well as the weathering at all?

Usually the fandom complains about too few paint application. :lol

That is a huge improvement, though.

I am amazed to see what was under the gray! You should change the title of the thread to include something about the gray so more people will know.

    Your Starscream is beautiful btw.

Yeah. that's what I'm worried about also, that stuff can clean paint off just as easy. Please clarify.

Very nice. I wonder how many people painted their nose cones blue.

you know you are a geek when the funniest part of your day is finding out Starscream's nose cone is blue under the silver paint. I should get out more.

Yup. Just cleaned mine myself. Not enough alcohol to get the silver on the thrusters, but the blue nosecone makes a HUGE difference.

I used a rag with alcohol for the majority, then cleaned the little bits with alcohol and q-tips.

And for those asking, as long as you don;t scrub with all your might, the panel lines should remainly almost entirely unaffected. I lost a couple of tiny bits where I was overzealous, but the lines are all still there.

Wow. Definitely like the blue nose. I'm waiting for Takara's release of the more anime-accurate version of him, but if I ever find a cheap Hasbro one, I'm getting it and doing what you just did!

    Alright.

BOTH engine covers are 95% clean.

Man the grey takes a while to remove.
