His labels finally came in the mail. I'll probably go back later and make him some better wings. and i might go back and repaint the green to match the stickers better. i'm not sure yet, i'm tired of messing with this guy at the moment.
i made them out of styrene plastic. i glued them to the engine thing that came with sunstreaker, so they attach like it normally does. thanks for the comment guys
lol, of course not. yep i made up my mind, i'll be repainting everything. i really want wheeljack to look, well, like an awesome looking wheeljack i think air brushing him will look ten times better.
I think you did a great job on Wheeljack. I've seen alot of these Wheeljack clones and I've to say some to all of them are good to be awesome.
I planned something similar, but they wings will be smaller so they can hide under the engine piece for Alt mode.
That's pretty good so far. Don't think I've seen anyone mod the head like that, I like it! Good luck with the repaint
It's good to see that someone else has decided to use the alternative leg transformation. you might want to turn the thighs around though so the screws aren't pointing forwards.
Now this is a G-1 TFU version ! Hasbro should thank you guys for making their toys better than the factory
Yeah, that head mod really works nicely; top work. I'm curious about the wings - do you just leave the whole engine block off in vehicle mode, or do you have a means to stash it? I think you might want to give the wings a once-over with a needle file or fine sandpaper, just to tidy them up; they look a little... makeshift to my eye. Though maybe a fresher paintjob alone will help that, I can't really tell. Oh, and I think the shoulder weapon works fine. A quick black paintjob and it'll look the bizniss. Actually, about that - I don't have the mould yet (very soon, I've got a couple on order), but I was thinking about having without the weapon, but giving the other two of them. As I recall from pics, the weapon stashes under the bottom to act as an exhaust - is there any room to fit two under there?
thanks for the comments guys, yea, i'm not happy with the wings at all, i didn't take my time with them. i'm going to re-do them, and i was thinking of maybe making them into a sword for wheeljack. oh, and about the sanding, what size/grade sandpaper is good when painting/customizing transformers?
Cool, cool. Sandpaper - I'd get a couple of grades, one for actually sanding parts down (for reshaping, grinding out scratches and such), basically the finest grade of actual sandpaper you can find, and for the really fine work, wet-and-dry finishing paper. That's designed basically to produce really smooth finishes so you can paint over them, and is ideal for fine detail sanding on kitbashes, like smoothing out joins and corners.
I tried that leg transformation and its good, but he won't have toes then All you need to do is unscrew the thigh then switch legs and their good .
