So judging from this and the Tformers article, the short list seems to include... Cosmos Arcee Galvatron-that's-not-repaint Jazz Sideswipe Sunstreaker Other Dinobots
Agreed. I don't really want to have to display my cybertron Soundwave with my classics but I will if thats the case.
I just realized... For Classics, my rule of "NO REPAINTS!!!" would have to be put on hold if they're Classics-only molds... So Cliffjumper, Skywarp, and any repaints that existed for the G1 line is fair game for me now... My wallet's crying tears of sorrow... So I guess I'll be getting all the Seeker repaints as well as Prowl/Bluestreak/Smokescreen and Sideswipe/Sunstreaker... And this time, I'm COOL WITH IT... Wow...
Plan on getting everything shown so far (even Devestator who I skipped in Energon) except for the LOC's (well I may Nemesis Menasor cuz I love Con Optimusssssss's)..... We better Thundercracker and the other two coneheads...
Prowl/Bluestreak/Smokescreen? I saw nothing about them being made, did I miss something? Also, I'll only accept a Sunstreaker repaint from Sideswipe if they give him a new head! Otherwise, it should just be repainted into Red Alert.
Ah. About this short list thing, does it mean those are the ONLY other toys they're considering making, or was it just an example of their ideas?
the impression i got from reading is basically, if they get to do another set (think how they did a second set of Star Wars Vintage Original Trilogy figures), they know who/what they're going to do, probably designs that just didn't quite make the cut for the first batch...
I figured that too, I'm just wondering if that list is the only other ones they might do period. I guess it's too soon to know that.
Well, I've done my part by picking up all of the first wave Classics today. I think this line has great potential to carry on beyond the first few waves for a few reasons. 1. Cheaper price point as people have already said. 2. Less complicated transformations. I love my Alts, but some of those guys are just a you know what to transform properly. This line needs to be popular with both kids and collectors to survive and if the kids don't get frustrated transforming their toys they're going to want to buy more of them because they're just so much fun to play with. 3. If we really do get a Classics cartoon that will certainly help. 4. I could be wrong, but it seems that the Classics are going to be more easily available than Alts or Titaniums to find, especially if they are going to be the main TF line until the movie figures come out.
Judging from their presence at Fry's Electronics and how fast they starting popping up at retail elsewhere, I'd say you're right that they're going to be very generously wide in release.
Hoping any more Dinobots are at the very least Swoop and Slag, if not all 4. Soundwave might not have been mentioned, but he could very well be on that list (down the line, well after the reissue, when we might actually see more Classics).
I would buy them all. But put the Dinobots first on the list, followed by Galvatron, Jazz, Sideswipe, Arcee, Sunstreaker, and then Cosmos.
