    Hi there!

Whew! I've been buried with commissions lately, but I finally had a little time to finish a new project; Classics Windcharger from Hot Shot.

It was a pretty easy project, the only mods being removing the spoiler and mini-con plug. I was a little uncertain on the head at first, I almost remolded it into a square box-shape, but Classics has been about updating, while capturing the original look and spirit of the character. He has the head-in-a-box look, although it has rounded edges. I didn't think the work would've been worth it, ultimately.

Windcharger was one of the original 'bots that looked different in the cartoon and toy. I always wanted a cartoon version deluxe scaled, and I think 'ol hot Shot did pretty well.

Comments, critiques and thoughts are encouraged!

I really like what you did here, man. Excellent work! The only things I noticed that could use some small touch ups are the shoulders (you can see the original paintjob bleeding through a small bit) and some detail added to the back lights in alt mode, and maybe some detailing to the front grill to make it stand out more and to break up that red a bit.

    Overall though, nice work!

    Thanks, and I appreciate it.

The shoulders... I almost added another coat, but I liked the stripes lightly showing, as they came out looking like a darker red like the bumpers.

I think I'll detail the grill later tonight. The tailights actually have some coats of clear red to set them apart, it just didn't come out in the pics.

    Thanks again!

You did a great job. I am planning on using this mold for Dead End. Nice to see it does look good without the fin.

This is fantastic! The colors work great on HotShot, and I'm thinking he would make a good base for Tailgate as well. Thank you sir, you've inspired me to paint up those extra Hot Shots I have sitting in a box. :thumbs2:

I agree with the others - this looks great :)

The drybrushing is very well done, and you did a good job painting in the small details in robot mode. The color scheme works great as well.

Just some crits: The windows don't look so nice painted in solid blue when his windshield is transparent (and the windows near the back of the car are in another color). I recommend painting all the windows in one color if you don't want to keep all of them transparent. Black usually works well with TF car windows, and it's easier if you paint them from the inside of the transparent plastic. You might also want to paint in the other details in alt mode - the grille, taillights, etc.

I hope that helps, man. :)

Maybe not for Windcharger, but I just might pick up this mold now... or try to, for some bashing.

Sweet Windcharger, but in a weird way he's giving off more of a either Dead End or Wildrider-type vibe. But thats just me.

i like what you did here. I have wanted to make a Windcharger to fit in with the classics for a while, but didn't know what to use. I was leaning towards an Energon Downshift, but i think this works much better. Nice job.

Very sweet man, I've been wanting a Classics Windcharger and I think you've captured it very nicely. I'm totally on board with you about the Classics giving updated looks. Great job, this kept under my eye on eBay...

Great job :thumb  I think you've gotten some very helpful suggestions and such here. However . . . .

I think I would suggest trying to better match the blue on the sides to the transparent blue rather than paint all of the windows. This is only because I'm a fan of translucent windows. The translucent windows have a bit of yellow in the tint, giving them a blue that's leaning towards green in hue :)

I think you could find a better head for this guy, despite your intentions. I do understand and appreciate your motivations for it though. Again, nice job :thumb
