Well this is my second try at a custom TF. The first one was pretty rough, a repaint of Uni. Sideswipe that I'm not too pleased with. This guy, on the other hand, turned out quite nicely. I stayed away from yellow, as I wanted him to really be readily different from Bumblebee. In the end, I leaned towards IDW's green coloring, but brightened him up a bit. The only thing that really disappoints me about this attempt was that I completely blew it while masking the figure, did the windshield and then forgot to take care of the inside of the windshield!! I'm not sure of a good way to remove that paint without making the windshield look horrible. Anywho, enjoy the pics:

Mad props to Sculptbot for the Bumper head. I'm in awe of your sculpting skills man, wish I could sculpt, but have no talent in that arena.

Actually I used Testor's Single Coat Lacquer. It goes on very nicely and usually only needs one coat. The end product does look much like auto paint, which is an added bonus. I really want to learn airbrushing, but for now the spray lacquer will have to do.

You could just painte the windows blackor blue, instead of trying to take that off.

Try using 90% alcohol. I did that once before and it took it right off.

just be sure and use Qtips for the alcohol, don't soak it. if you over-expose the plastic on BB it'll crumble. If you use a Qtip, scrub some, wipe off, and repeat, you'll be fine, no worries. I find it odd to see Bumper in green, but at the same time, this toy looks really good in that color.

Try Pine-Sol. Makes a great paint remover. I'm not even kidding :p  Other than the screw-up with the windshield though, great work.

Maybe paint the windows black, but if you want them clear. Then use the advice earlier.

Bumper was never green, might as well made him a new character...

If you prefer, I could call him Nemesis Bumper...or Shattered Glass Bumper; having him in green a la the IDW illustration sets him off a little better than having another yellow bot, when you bear in mind I'm thinking about making a Goldbug to go with my Bumblebee. Three yellow-ish versions of the same mold would be excessive for me, given the amount of time and money I'll be putting into them. But, looking back through the comic, indeed he is yellow outside of the lighting effects.

    Non-"Transformers" FTW! :thumb

No sweat! I forgot to say that I really like your custom, and I'm glad you actually went in a different direction with it. This really makes your piece unique in a great way, I feel. Keep up the good work :thumb

Hey thanks, I appreciate it. My next up will be my try at a Uni. Hound mod into swindle that I saw here a while ago, but that won't be at least until next week, maybe longer if work gets in the way. I know copying isn't original, but if I see something good I just gotta try my hand at it.
