Sp I've been assembling materials these past couple of weeks amidst my moving and whatnot to attempt my first kitbash (because I'm missing a psare seeker to do Titanium Soundwave up right). I was going to turn Rodimus into Sideswipe. I'd seen this done before and liked to looks of it and I've got a Titanium rodimus Prime I snagged last week to fill the slot. Then I heard about the marvelous news of Classics 2.0, and (after I put on a new pair of pants because I soiled them) saw that we're going to get a Sideswipe next year. I'm a real stickler for having one of any given character, so if they release a Classics Magnus later on that's more thana repaint, mine will become a Nemesis Prime, most likey, but I digress. I'm now thinking about the merits of turning my Rodimus into Tracks. To my knowledge, it's never been done before, and I think with a little tweaking that the mold would lend itself well to the character. Any thought/input?
Why's that? Tracks was a corvette type car, I tihnk the Bumblebee would tame him a bit. Hmmm... Thinking I'll digibash this first.
Excuse the rushed and sloppy nature of this. I just wanted to see if the colors fly on the mold or not. I think I'm going to fill in the exhaust pipe on the sides and file down/fill in the engine on the hood, too.
Tracks kind of annoys me, but I've got the parts and the figure and I want to something to hold me over til I scrape up a Ramjet, and I think this can turn out really nice. I'll start work as soon as I finish unpacking my new place, I do believe.
Cool, can't wait to see it done. I have some ideas on doing my own but I got some planning to do before I try it.
I think because the basic transformation scheme--minus the legs/feet as Milkman stated--more closely resembles G1 Tracks. That said, I do think the alt mode and overall bot-mode proportions of Rodimus better suits a Tracks kitbash.
I'm almost finished unpacking the house, so I can start this bad boy... but then I found a ramjet that I'm going to scrap for parts to fix Tit Soundwave's diaper crotch, and that just totally takes priority over Tracks. I am thinking of dismantling him for this though. I've never completely disassembled a TF for painting before. I normally just use a brush and call it a day, but since the ENTIRE bot must be painted blue, I thought it best to dismantle. Anyone took him apart before? Does it suck? It sucks, doesn't it?
