    Hey all,
I've got an extra Classics Starscream, and we know we're getting a Classics Skywarp, so i've decided to make a Classics Thundercracker.

    Has anyone else tried?

I'm going to use the RIT dyeing method. Hopefully it works out..........

UPDATE: some pics. Any suggestions? :)

The red on the wings kinda show's through yet. I was thinking of painting over the red with either silver, or blue. Or maybe gold?

PICS of plane mode. Not sure if I like the wings.

Did some more painting on it:

There's quite a few at my walmart, for $7. If you want one, I can get it for you for cost plus shipping. :)

not guarranteed, but they pretty much said it WAS highly likely. I'll only be doing a Sunstorm to start out until I see what all we get. With a practically new mold in Ramjet, I wouldnt' be surprised at all to at least see a Dirge repaint, so I would like sunstorm, and maybe thrust would be the only two we won't get officially...

Yeah, that's pretty much what I heard, that he was on their list of "possibilities". :)

I've got SS dissassembled, and i'm preparing to dye him. I'll post some pictures when i'm done. :)

Nice. I really like the black on Thundercracker. Or is that really dark purple from the dye job?

yeah, you have to either A) remove all paint aps prior to dye, or B) paint over them afterwards.

PE, that's just the original red paint turned purple.

That's the red paint apps, turned purple. I was hoping they'd be a little more purple though.

Looks really nice! How much of that is dye job vs paint? Is that purple or blue dye and are there different shades available?

Mostly dyed. Only paint is the silver details, and then I painted the wings and tailwings blue.

I'm not crazy about the wings, but aside from that it looks like you did a good job.
