Hey folks! I've gotten some new galleries up over the past week or so. The first is the Classics Thundercracker I made for someone on request. I'm very fond of the stripes - those are painted on. clay, your work continues to rock HARD man; great job! I love all of the decisions you made for T-cracker. The black really sets him apart. Your version of my Spinger turned out really sweet too! Your treatment of yellow really makes him shine too. This makes me miss mine that much more! I'll be replacing him soon though (btw, thanks for the props ).
I like that blue on TC!! Springer looks great, but the whole reason I love him, is because he can transform into a helicopter. No matter how good they are, I just can't get behind a car-only Springer.
wow, that springer's sharp. I like your thundercracker, too. the blue is a nice balance between the light blue of the toon and the darker of the toy. I've gotta ask, though, how were you able to do the stripes? the reason being I can never get masking tape to adhere well enough to prevent the paint from bleeding.
Thanks people! You have to mist the paint on with an airbrush in very thin coats to prevent bleeding. I used some of the molded details on the wings as guides as to where to put the tape; that's why both wings are symmetrical. Aside from that, patience. ...... Um, click the links.
