I was going to hold off on posting this till tomorrow, but I said what the hell. I'll post Bot mode pics tonight & alt mode pics in the next day or 2 after the clear fully dries & I flip the doors around (I put them on the wrong sides ). So anyways, Bedtime commissioned me to make him a G1 Toxin body for his TFCon exclusive Toxin head. We talked about changing the color shades around a lil bit. So before working on his I wanted to run some "test" color schemes. Well I happened across WhiteMohca's Botcon Digibash idea thread here on TFW & he had an idea to take the Classics Lambor mold & turn it into Chromedome, & then the idea hit me. CLASSICS TOXIN !!! So after alot of parts swapping between Sideswipe & Red Alert (for as many white pieces I could get) & grafting a PCC Leadfoot Commander face on to Red Alert's head. BINGO, Classics TFCon Toxin. All & all, he took me about 3 days to prep & paint. Everything is hand painted (teach me not to clean my airbrush for 4 months ). He's painted with Tamiya Acrylic XF-8 Flat Blue, Tamiya Acrylic XF-1 Flat Black, Testors Enamel 1124CA Green & clear with Testors Dullcote ALT MODE PICS ADDED
Oooooooooooo. He is pretty!! Congrats on a gorgeous toy and a wicked mold and head choice!! Beautiful paint work too, I can't wait to see Altmode pics!!
Man that's looking good there bud - those colours work so nice and pretty together. Looking forward to Alt mode pics when it's dry
I agree, but I don't think that's a bad thing. Chromedome is a really odd car to begin with. I think Toxin here accurately reflects that as well as the actual Toxin color scheme. I think the only odd thing for me is the light bar. Regardless, this is some nice work! I really like the head, and the paint work looks really nice
I have no idea how you got it so smooth using a brush. I can never get mine to lay down like that. Also, I had no idea who this d00d was until today and you definitely made er fit the source material in updated form.
I mix my Tamiya Acrylics 70% paint to 30% Future floor polish, plus the Testors Dullcote helps hide brush strokes.
Awesome job Stu!!!! The paint on this looks beautiful and the custom as a whole is sweet. You make me want one of these lol
