    Classics technobot, lightspeed

    here's Lightspeed
, he was made using Armada blurr. I modded him some knees while i was at it. the head like my other 2 technobots was from E. Duststorm(still need 1 more Duststorm head BTW, for Afterburner)

note he now has a flight mode, fulfilling his G1 urge to explore the skies above;)

    EDIT: new pics, finished

    the rest to follow soon...

he looks really nice in red man. looks like you've got a touch of bleed-through on the white though...

using the waist from a Superion maximus arm or leg-bot. i cut A. blurrs crotch and thighs off, then glued the waist on . the legs were telescopic to begin with, luckily i found the new legs just needin a bit of shaving to fit in the original legs slot.

yeah the bleed through sucks, but this waqs like paint app 3 billion, i am happy with it now, but i never finish these things, I always mod later, even after I submit. nosecone has like 5 paint apps that he didnt when i posted him, but all the improvements should be done when I unveil COMPUTRON

Ah, so you are combining them. Sweet.

I like what you've done to Lightspeed. Letting him keep his flight mode's a great idea, and i love the added articulation.

Maybe using the red Universe redeco would have saved you work, chipping, and bleed-through problems.
But i'm digging it. I think i like Strafe most of the ones you did.

Sweet custom. That car mode fits pretty well with a bot named lightspeed.

Not sure if I read correctly, are you using the same head for all of the limbs for computron?

I was hoping to, if you look at his G1 limb-bots they all have the same head, colored different. I was going for that here, but lacking the 4th head. scattorshots head is the only different head of the originals. barely

thanx everyone for the support. the paint looks fine in person, its more of a case of the camera getting too much detail. anyway, i wasn't aware of a red redeco. this toy was given to me(headless) so its not like I spent my last buck on this guy, plus doing the custom was fun, and 100% of the reason for doing it.

Computron will be for myself, and was a be-otch to pur together. it takes alot of guts a grease to get a combiner from scratch. I hope you all will like the finished product.

Wow... this is a great choice for Lightspeed. I had completely overlooked this mold simply because I don't like it very much, but your leg mod makes an impressive difference. Also, he looks great in red.

Also, the smaller head makes the overall proportions of this figure work much better.

Though it would have been nice if there was some way to reduce all his back kibble.

This looks really great man! I love the use of this mold as well. Your modifications to the mold itself really add to the already cool mold :thumb

Awesome custom. I love the added leg articulation.

It's such a pity that most of the toys in the Armada line were like transforming bricks. Most of the molds had potential to be great toys.

Okay... having looked at my Armada Blurr figure, I have to ask... have you done something else to his back, or is it just the head swap and hip replacement?

His back kibble seems like it's not hanging down as far as usual.

Or are his legs just that much longer? If so, how'd you measure the length to make the transformation still work?

Man, I gotta do this! I love this bash! I have Armada Blurr but found it useless until today!
As Smog asked, did you mod his back cause seems the back part of the original toy is much lower. Anyhoo, well done :)

well to answer both your questions, I didnt mod the back at all, the legs actually fit pretty well . but i had to shave a considerable amount to the sides of the legs so they telescoped as far as they could back inside. they still stick out the butt end, a lil. but it's neglegible compared to the amount of kibble Blurr had anyways. the added height is mostly the part of the knee that slides inside his leg, instead of just the thigh

also I am surprised i didnt need to mod the feet or legs to support that back either. thought i had sunk my teeth in when i went to stand him up at first.

    thanx guys
