I'm just wondering how hard it would be to fit RM Starscream's Nullrays to Classics Starscream, and what would it look like?

Not only is the peg too small on the RM null rays, but they are so skinny and short they look way out of place on Classic Scream. I tried myself.

    A shame really.

Yeah the RM ones don't fit, but he sure looks nice with the G1 null-rays, a perfect fit!

Damn. The ones we have are just too damned big...

Part of me is tempted to try to see if I can make a new set of nullrays and a megatron gun mode gun that they can hold.

Too bad Transrepos was shut down... could have seen if I could get them produced... :p

    Unfortinatly they're even more oversized...

Funny that everyone complains about his huge cannons, but the G1 cannons are practically the same size, but have a much weaker sculpt.

I think the G1 guns have a much better sculpt. Rounded is far more appropriate for an airplane that a huge block under each wing.

    But yeah, still too big.

The G1 guns are smaller, even though they go on a much larger Starscream.

    That's the problem right there.

My biggest complaint with Classics Starscream's guns would disappear in an instant if they had just molded the pegs clear at the BACK of the guns, instead up up front on the block part of it. That, or made the wings able to bend back from the side slightly, so you could still pose the arm and not have to have the wings folded down.

It probably wouldn't be too hard to cut the pegs off with a razor saw and move them back a bit. I've been contemplating trying it.

I've been thinking about that too. Wouldn't it totally screw up jet mode, though?

I'm thinking shorten the existing pegs so they don't mess up robot mode poseability, and adding some new ones for robot mode.

I'm planning some mods to at least one of my Starscreams at some point and thinking the best way to do it may be to get rid of the peg itself, leaving only the "slot" bit, and then mounting some high-powered rare-earth type magnets in the usual spot, plus one further back, then put two magnets on the upper arm, one at the back/upper, one at the front/lower and make sure they match up. Then, it would still slot-in to the wing clip with magnets to hold it on, and it would easily mount to the arm and give better posability.

The other opotion is to move the grooved receptacle on the wings so that the guns stay in relatively the same position they are now but you could move the peg back for 'bot' mode.

Then there's the OTHER other option. Buy a pile of styrene and roll your own guns. Or just buy appropriately scaled model F-15 missiles/clusters and modify them for use on Starscream.

Oh crap, and here comes the brainstorm. I need to stop this post before I find a thousand more ways to do this.

Much larger Starscream?? Are you talking about G1 or Cybertron? Do you have them both? Have you seen them together?

    I took some measurements:

    nullray length: G1=81mm, Classics=89mm
    arm length: G1=54mm, Classics=47mm
robot height at base of head: G1=113mm, Classics=114mm
robot height at top of intakes: G1=136mm, Classics=134mm

    2mm is much larger?

I'll admit they are a bit small, but alot closer to the anime look than the oversized ones he comes with. The official ones are a higher percentage larger than the RM ones are smaller. I hope that made sense. Here's a pic of him with the RM ones.

The pegs are too small to stay in. I just have them balanced on there for that pic.

    . . . I like the Classics SS's null rays . . .

It's always nice to see some variety though. One of the many good things about a customs section :)

ooohhh. i like. but since i don't have RM SS, i have to find a way of making something like that. of course, i have to get Classic starscream first. Damn Canada and our peaceful-liberal-free healthcare-slow to get transformers-way of life.

There's a tradeoff, though. Although we seem to get a lot of stuff later, distribution seems much more consistant. Once figures start to hit, they hit everywhere, unlike in the US, where distribution seems scattered, with some areas never getting some figures at all.

I wonder how the null-rays from the oversized knock-off RM Starscream would look like.
