    Hey hey, it's been awhile.

    Question-
I still don't have a Classics Thundercracker, and since I have 2 different Starscreams now (Classics & Universe) ....
...would it be a bad idea to turn Classics Starscream into Thundercracker?

Or should I shell out the small fortune and buy Henkei Thundercracker?

I don't want to find out Classics Starscream becoming a rarity later on and be mad at myself for painting him blue. :lol

    Thanks!

    ------------------------------------------------------
*here's some random upgrades Ive been doing. Nothing special.
Chromed some rims, added silver on some mirrors, panels & door handles, repainted Cliffjumper, added pipes to my Huffer and Dirge'd my spare Ramjet.
Added more white to Energon Downshift to bring the Wheeljack out.

I painted my Classics Starsream without any hesitation. I don't know if it will be worth anything but it only cost me 10 bucks and I don't regret painting him. I didn't like his colors anyway. I made him more G1.

Your repaints look great. I would repaint AND get a Henkei (if I had the money).

I've thought about this very thing myself.
Chances are that Classics SS will be the more rare one of the 2.
I say take which ever one you don't like the best & turn him into TC.

    Henki TC, $79

    Uni SS, $15
    Paints $10
    Custom TC $25

    I don't know it sells it's self !!!

I'd take the first version Starscream and paint that one if it were me, but that's entirely up to you. But I'd most definitely MAKE Thundercracker instead of buying the Henkei one.

The classics model is harder to find now, but it's really up to you about which you feel better about modifying. Plus keep in mind which you would have to work harder on to get the paint to set to the plastic. The good news is that the mods would be superficial, mostly paint unless you want to change the face.

Good luck. Your other customs have been strong, so no doubt about finished works!

Thanks for the help, it helped me make my mind up.

Will just grab a Universe Screamer or another Acid Storm. They seem like the cheapest ones to use right now.
Hopefully find one for 7.77 if Walmart still has those deals.

The 7.77 WM deal is largely disappearing, with a price $5 higher! :(

I took my original Classics Starscream to make a custom TC (still finishing it up), after buying Universe Starscream.

Universe SS, with some parts swapping from Acid Storm, is a good base for a Thundercracker. I bought the Henkei seekers and sold them recently. It's just stupid to shell out that kind of money when I can just repaint an existing mold. Yea, it's not the same exclusive, but it'll do for me.

Acid Storm could be the better way to go since you wouldn't have to repaint the black arms and feet. Though a U-Screamer would probable be able to be dyed blue instead of having to paint it. I guess both have their good and bad points.

Not sure about Uni Starscream but I tried dying Cl Starscream and to my surprise, only very few parts took the dye. (I'll be posting a thread myself when I finish my own TC custom.)

Id say to pick up an extra one now, while they're still available. That way, you still ahev an extra, and you can paint away! :thumb

The Hot Wheels trailer is a few years old, but they keep repainting it over & over, so you should be able to find a version or 2 of it at Walmart/TRU/Walgreens Target wherever ($7.99ish)

Redline got Reprolabels to make a small supply of custom decals for it a few years ago. Pretty kewl

    *digs up old pic*

Found a couple of Screamers so I finally got an extra to Thundercrack. All is good, picked the one out with the crooked wing decal.

Ah, now those pics bring back some memories.
-Wait, what's that? Oh gods no, it's not -melting?! :dunce

Can't wait to see what you do with Thundercracker! Are you planning on going toy or cartoon colors? He's always been one of my favorites, and there's no way I can afford one of the official releases. Who knows, maybe I'll follow your lead (again) and do one for myself sometime...

Love that Huffer/Prime as well. Who would have known that that little scout figure could be so damned fun to work with?

    Thanks Methusalen

Pretty much done so far, it's pretty basic. Still need some touching up & maybe some decals.
Just saved myself alot of money with this one

That's really good to know that the Hot Wheels trailer can still be found easily :)

Your Thundercrack (<-- lolz @ spelling) looks nice, man! I really wished I could have brought myself to get into Classics/Universe customs as I would have saved some money going this route too. Now that I have a Henkei Thundercracker, I lament that I couldn't get a Henkei Skywarp, too.

I do intend to make myself a Ramjet and Dirge, though. Even though I feel that $60-70 is squeezing for a deluxe [from any line, TakaraTOMY! No Alternity for me!], no way can I afford the Botcon set Seekers. The Henkei Coneheads are off of my radar too, despite the Dirge coolness.

Anyways, your work is very nice, and it's inspiring. Thanks for sharing man :thumb

Thanks SS. Id rather own a Henkei TC anyday lol. You're probably better off because this was probably the most boring paintjob I ever did. Not painting anything blue for awhile.

Making Dirge from Ramjet was my first seeker painting.

    now I just a Thrust.
May have to buy one, too scared to mutilate some G1 Thrust wings
