I can't seem to find it at the moment but a while back someone made a thread speculating on what upcoming Classics they'd make. Since I can't find the thread I guess we might as well do this again while knowing what we know now.

Okay, judging from the way things are going according to Sureshot's thread, the Botcon news at TFW2005, and Tformers article, the Classics line now has:

We also hear that there's currently no plans for Classics Soundwave because of the G1 reissue; there aren't any plans to bring out the big characters like Metroplex and Omega Supreme; not much plans for combiners other than rereleasing the Seacons; and I'm guessing they're still sticking with characters from the cartoon.

So, who do you think they'll add next, and for what reasons? And do we really count LOCs as homages? I really doubt that. My guesses: They could put in an Insecticon for variety in the Decepticon ranks. They'll likely do repaints (but I kinda hope there's wing remold) of Ramjet as Dirge and Thrust.

 

If we get all of those I will lick them. All over. Despite my dismay at the apparent shortness of the line. I'd really like to see a Blitzwing, Soundwave, Hound, and Jazz.

 

Where is the love for Prowl? I think a current rendition of a classic character like Prowl would be sooooo cool. The police car look just rocks..

I want an Ironhide/Ratchet update!

Then Shockwave, then Blitzwing, then maybe Predaking or something.

 

All the ones on the shortlist would be fine with me.... except the dinobots. Nothing particular against them, I would just rather see their spots go to other characters whose absence leaves a more troubling gap:

Personally I'd love to see more minbots. I guess Powerglide is out, and probably Huffer and Pipes.... but what about Brawn, Windcharger, Warpath, Seaspray, etc.?

But speculation, I think, just sets us up for painful disappointment.

 

I want Blitzwing and Prowl. There, one for each side. Course, I think Blitzwing would make a KILLER voyager-sized figure, while Prowl is clearly deluxe-sized goodness.

 

All good idea but some insecticons would be nice, balance out the numbers more as well.

 

We were also told that they are doing Thundercracker. Sorry, just noticed you included that. My BAD!!!

Maybe Brawn, Jazz, and Gears as well. There are too many to decide. I wouldn't mind if they just updated EVERY G1 character period.

I hope if they do other size class we get thing like ultra Magnus with remoulded prime cab and combining trailer, think that would make him a leader class, maybe omega supreme, think the leader size would be enough for him, leader size tf do tower over most other pretty well and save the supreme for city bots, even if they are only minicon cities. I guess more obscure character like thunderwing could make good con leader class TF, possible even some of the combiners made as one set. Can’t really come up with any one that would fit in the ultra class, dinobots could have worked if grimlock wasn’t already done.

 

All I know is that in the list of the eight they wanted to do four of them better be decepticons.

Hasbro owns GIJoe. If GIJoe has the name, no reason a TF couldn't share it.

 

A deluxe Gnaw must be on that list.
