    Hey folks,

I'm new to collecting TFs, and have been scouring the net for a decent representation of Classics Soundwave.

Does anyone know if Hasbro/Takara will be producing an official Soundwave for the CHUG lines?

I like the look of the BTS Soundwave due soon, and have seen a number of decent customs to represent a CHUG Soundwave, but before I take the plunge on either, I'd love to know if an 'official' version was due.

    Any thoughts?

It would be nife for a official Classics G1 style Soundwave. Welll if Generations is going to continue maybe we'll see the upcoming figures at Botcon. WFC is in my Classics shelf and to me he doesn't look out of place. Music Label is also a good one.

Music Label, while expensive, goes best on the Classics shelf. I have WFC as a placeholder right now, and am waiting for Hasbro to make something better.

Or if OP wants an updated Soundwave, might wait until next month when BTS Toys Sonicron is released. I'd wait for reviews on that one though. Based on what's currently out, Music Label is the way to go IMO

Apart from the War for Cybertron version from Generations (which is cybertronian mode, so mabye not suitable) the only one that springs to mind is the Takara Music Label Soundwave, which was a working mp3 player (albeit a bad one). It's hard to track down and very expensive these days. It's an excellent toy, however, and if Hasbro stripped out the electronics I could see it making a nice deluxe. Can't hold cassettes though, due to the chest hatch being used for a memory card.

Music Label Soundwave is the shit. I have the Sonic White one, and even though he's the SG coloration, he looks badass in my Classics collection.

I use WFC Soundwave for now. Cybertron Soundwave is also a good stand in if you are looking for a larger size class. He also comes with a great Lazerbeak, who I use in my classics lineup.

Music Label, as the others have mentioned. Although WFC Soundwave is pretty dope, too; there's a fan-mode configuration for him that resembles a boombox!

I still haven't found a toy worthy enough to replace this guy in my Classics setup.

Music Label is too small, and too G1. I prefer him to be visually imposing, as Megatron's silent enforcer. Music Label's other hit against it is that it's got virtually zero ability to interact with minions, while Cybertron Soundwave has Laserbeak, and works really well with Perfect Effect's offerings.

Oh god, I just looked at Sonicron and that looks just terrible. I wouldn't recommend that to even my worst enemies.

Music Label Soundwave is slightly taller than deluxe Seekers, he's a great representation for the Classics world.

The original Soundwave only lacks articulation in his legs and is quite an imposing toy. He can also store a cassette, 2 if you get the Classics release that used the Soundblaster mold.

Be nice if they re-released it with the cassettes, except each one activates a different sound chip using sound bytes of his voice from the old cartoon.

Huh. In that case, I would think we would have gotten better pictures by now.

Music Label fills the void on my shelf for Shockwave. He's an awesome toy too.

For an easy to obtain, cheap to buy, can probably-get-it-right-now-if-you-went-out-to-the-store method, get WFC Soundwave from Generations.
For a hard to find, expensive as hell, and probably will take you a few months to find and save up for method, get Music Label.
