This originally was going to start out as Overkill, a copy of the BotCon Customizing class figure. After getting the figure and the paints necessary, something clicked and told me that the figure was destined to be something else. While looking at my BotCon set, it hit me that Classics Weirdwolf needed an old headmaster teammate, and the idea of Skullcruncher came to mind. I don't have a bio for this, but I will be working on one.

For anyone unfamiliar with the character: G1 Skullcruncher

    And here he is:

Interesting. I like it. Hasbro should do more Classics Headmasters. Regardless of whether they are actual Headmasters in the sense that the head transforms or not. I want one.

Grotesque I think is the one you speak of...

Back on topic, I really dig the paint job you did on this guy, very G1 indeed :thumb

Skullcruncher was the first headmaster figure I ever got, and holds a special place in my heart. That's an awesome job! If I ever get my hands on another Grimlock, he'll be repainted!! I especially like the fact that, unlike Grimlock, G1 Skullcruncher actually HAD the tail weapon.

I had Skullcruncher as a kid...but didn't really like him for some reason...I think your take on a classics SC looks pretty good...the paint apps are nice though I can't stop thinking about Christmas when I see him... :sly:

If anything...apply more black and less white...but he does look nice...good job...

That is a damn fantastic paint job. I never realized Grimlock in those colours would be so convincing as Skullcruncher :thumb

The grey and red Monsterbot was Double-cross (two-headed hydra). Grotesque was a winged sabre-tooth tiger and the other one (I cant remember the name despite having it as a kid) was a giant termite-thing. Regardless, Classics Grimock looks bitchin in Skullcruncher's colors. I saw the G1 influence instantly; great work! N' ya gotta love how Grim's black and gold helmet matches Grax's head-mode colors.

Repugnus is the name your thinking of. I too have ole headmasters Skullcruncher as well and this repaint of Classics Grimmy into him is an nice homage to him. Awesome work.

Holy cow, that mold works GREAT as Skullcruncher. I never thought of that. But I have a G1 Skullcruncher sitting here on my desk and man, the robot mode is spot on... even down to the shoulder/torso shape, the sword tail, and the reptilian fins on his lower legs.

Okay, this has just gotten added to my list of Classics repaints I would like to see. I think it's the best possible repaint of this mold. And man, he would make such a great pair with Botcon Weirdwolf.

    Nice work! :)

Wow, that's actually perfect for a classics Skullcruncher. Like Peaugh, the fact that g1 Skullcruncher actually had the tail weapon works out great. It's as if they had this planned the whole time....

The colors are way beyond awful, but thats not your fault. The paint application is superb, very clean and smooth. Fantastic work. I hope we get some updated Headmasters at some point, without the dumb transforming heads.

Thanks! I could recall that figure's name at anytime except for earlier in this thread.
