Are folk using any toy for a Skids stand in? The 1985 crowd were starting to look under-represented at the moment.

I've been using the Blue-Movie-repant of what's-his-name that got redecoed as Cannonball.

It's not an exact match, but it's good enough for now...

Been trying to figure out a better solution of late as well, actually...

I dunno if it would fit classics, but I was thinking you could kitbash a decent Skids from ROTF Mudflap. It would need a different head, but he always seemed a lot closer to the G1 alt and bot mode than the actual ROTF Skids.

    Energon Towline should suffice.

    He's a blue van.

G1 Skids actually doesn't look bad in a Classics collection. You could get a cheap reissue and repaint the eyes and mod him a little? The yellow eyes painted blue makes a big difference.

Alternators Skids would be rather big compared to the rest, but he is still a Skids. Energon Tow Line has the right sort of vehicle mode colours, too.

Though to be honest, a repainted Universe Ironhide would be the best stand in of all, if you have the time and the skill.

Pfeh, I almost forgot Skids even exists. He appeared in, what, two episodes?

Energon Towline is probably your best bet. I'm hoping Skids is released in the next go-round of Classics whether its during the movie with generations or after...I have a soft spot for poor Skids so he's at the top of my want list now.

    Which Skids isn't.

He's a sub-compact car. Think Honda Fit, which is the Honda City's modern counterpart- Skids' G1 alt mode.

Energon Towline has far too much white for my tastes.

Wrong size class, and wrong alt mode, but I've been using the recent Breacher scout. He reminds me of Skids a bit.

Anyone think we'll ever actually see a classics style G1 Skids? I think movie Skids has forever condemned him to modern toy limbo.

    ...just like in the comics.

But not necessarily, in fact they may have done him the service of providing a repaint option. They could probably sell quantities of such a mold in blue, green and orange. I dunno if they could make a more sober g1 headsculpt incorporate some of the goofiness, or if they'd be better off doing 3 separate headsculpts.

It all depends on how much longer Classics will continue. If demand persists, it'll probably happen sooner or later. They're getting to the point where they'll run out of top-tier recognisable characters soon enough.

I always forget about him. Probably the character I would choose close to last for an update

I use Alt. Skids, even though I display him with my Alts where he truly belongs instead of the Classics Autobots shelf.

I find both of these suggestions workable.

Very true. However, the cartoon depicted him as a vanette instead because subcompacts were rare in the USA. Energon Tow-Line is a joint homage to Skids and the Onebox Bots, splitting into a humanoid robot and a battle sled like Ratchet and Ironhide, but coloured like G1 Skids and with G1 Skids' head.

I don't even remember him in the cartoon at all to be honest. But then again, Punch/counterpunch was in what, one episode?

I wouldn't mind a repaint of Universe Ironhide as Skids, just to get the character out there. It's not a very in demand character to warrant a new mold.
