"They" never said anything about it. We just saw one little image that was supposedly a test sample stolen from a factory...

Right. It was never official announced. S520 saw it on a schedule, but that obviously wasn't final.

I'm glad it hasn't surfaced. It's one thing to cancel Titanium Shockwave, the only recent shot we've had at a modern toy of G1 shockwave (well, other than his alternator), but then to just straight-up reissue Shockblast, not even repainting him, is pretty harsh. I'm really hoping that his WFC design makes the cut for Generations.

I agree. We need a proper Shockwave update.

I don't see why they just don't make a classics that is pretty much a remake of the G1 version. People seem to love the design & since he is a purple space gun, there isn't the issue of him being a realistic gun. Keep the electronics for the flashing gun arm & sounds. I'd even put an LED in his head to light his eye up. Maybe have the barrel tip fold down onto his forearms instead of being removable.

It was never for sure. I believe Hasbro tried to sell it as a Target exclusive voyager. And were going to release it with Leo Prime as a pair. As his test shot surfaced around the same time. But Target said no.

We've got more of a chance riding on releasing a Shockwave mold from the War for Cybertron series (my avatar).

I was wondering about the re-release of Shockblast as Shockwave too. I would have settled for him, but a new rendition for the Generations/WFC line would be even better.

Kind of too bad this reissue didn't happen; I have the original E-Shockblast and it fits in very well on a Classics shelf.

IIRC, Hasbro can't/won't reuse the Classics Megatron mold in the US because it turns into a gun, even though that definitely isn't realistic, so I'd imagine a gun-mode Shockwave isn't likely to happen either. Like Megatron, Blaster, Soundwave and the Cassettes, Shockwave is just one of those characters who isn't going to have their original alt mode in any toy remakes.

Where is this stated? Why even make it in the first place if they have issues with it being a gun? I think they just haven't figured out a way to reissue it yet. They can't paint it gray or black since then it would be too close to a real gun's colors so the only open is a wacky color scheme. They had no issues puttin out roleplay guns for the movies & animated (star wars also puts out role-play guns) Armada Laserbeak also had a gun mode. Doesn't Hasbro also put out Nerf guns or at least their version of Nerf.

you can always check out the music label version. He seems classic size and very poseable.

I try not to be demanding when it comes to Classics and its sequels...after all, sometimes it's nicer to be surprised. That said, this figure NEEDS to happen.

as far as Transformers goes i think Hasbro has slipped into a way of thinking thats its best to keep guns out of it and stick with vehicles, real or fantasy if we do get a new Shockwave he won't be a gun. Sad but true.

Let me get this straight then: there are no toy guns for sale in the States?

And then you can buy a real one when you are 16? But no sex for you, mister, until you are 17?

In what world does that make sense?

A new Classics-type version of Shockwave is among my most wanted.
Sadly, doesn't seem to be in the cards anytime soon.
