    Interesting.
Yes, I always make the socket slightly larger than the ball. Wonder if its a difference in the way the printing is done?
If the ball was bigger than the socket, an FDM print would likely split when you force the ball into the cavity due to the fact that there is weakness between layers.

Wonder if others have any other experiences...?

Should have printed the thighs in gray and saved a bit of paint.
Still, this is coming along amazingly!

Thanks, and yeah, I thought about that too, but I’m still experimenting with the design and I have a ton more purple plastic than grey plastic. Once I’m totally happy all the leg parts fit together well, I may reprint in grey. For now, purple is my playground. Lol.

Beautiful, I think the head could do with being a little shorter height wise but other than that this is coming along great.

Managed to figure out the knee system I wanted to use and get the parts printed.
Might need to tweak the design once I start working up the leg mechanism. But, we shall see :)

This continues to be a huge challenge.
I’ve been working on the leg designs for a while.
But, I feel like I’m getting closer to a solution.
Here is a pic of the latest gun mode mock up.

You could have panels that fold over the bottom of the feet...

    Yep, good spot.
The feet actually aren't in this mock up. The plan is for them to fold up inside the leg.
