    *UPDATE IN POST 12*

As the centerpiece for the scene I posted a couple of days ago, I wanted to create a re-imagined deluxe scale Shockwave since he's been my favorite character for some 25-odd years.

    Parts used-
    Cyclonus legs
Protoform Prime torso, hips and upper arms
    Red Alert feet
    Dropshot rifle
Gundam wrists, hand, antenna and neck
    Styrene and putty

This is still 'rough', and will have more details added and some smoothing out of a couple of rough spots. I still have to add the cannon hose and a chest lens, plus I'll probably tamp a Decepticon logo on the top of the chest and shoulder.

    C/C welcome.

    Thanks guys!

Some of the details I'm planning on adding are scored panel lines and added mechanical details all around.
The front power plant will have added details, and the front lens will be etched on the interior to add to the details.
Nothing's permanently assembled yet, so these additions will be easy to flesh out.

Now I just need to pick up some airplane putty for some of the smoother areas. I used 'green stuff' for gap filling, but it isn't the best for smooth surfaces.

    !!!

Do you plan on adding a cable running from the gun hand to the back pack? A scope sight?

    This looks awesome thus far.

    Yes to both.
The cable I had picked out was absolutely perfect... for a larger figure. So I'll be making one that allows for better movement.

As for the sight, it'll be added as soon as I get the clear plastic for the chest lens. It'll be on a hinge that folds down like the original.

Once the figure is completed, I'm going to build a laboratory for him as well.

i like the amouht of details u put on this, looks realy impressive, my onlt critic will be the proportions, it seems the the barrel and the handle are equal, and if used cycoonus's kegs maybe usethe toun fold and make the gun handle shorter?

Wonderful, wonderful! How about a trigger and trigger guard? Excuse all the questions, I'm just really excited over this custom. Shockwave is my favorite character. I'm such a fanboy. :D

I was actually kind of avoiding the giant flying space gun aspect and going more for an artillary piece. That excludes a trigger. Sorry.
But, the panel behind his head that folds down for transformation goes far enough down to create the illusion of a trigger. Maybe I'll carve out a spot for it so that the trigger is at least possible.

I did pick up the plastic for the sight/lens and airplane putty last evening, so progress will be posted later on.

    *Update*

I'll be finishing up some putty and sanding work today, plus build the chest lens to be added after the paint is applied.

Since the first post, I added higher shoulders, widened the back of the head and angled out the 'ears', added more details to the cannon arm, added lots of tiny details to the chest and generally more panels and such all over.
I also found the perfect hose for the cannon arm. It's actually a chain belt for a minigun, but looks really good in place. It'll be added after the paint.
Also built the base for fun.
