I asked in a different thread but got no answer...how are you guys fitting G1 Hot Rod's blasters into Classic Rod's hands? I've tried the original and reissue blasters and the pegs are far too small for the fistholes. I can't even balance them in there. Please someone let me know what an idiot I am so I can finally give Roddy his old guns.
Weird. On the Rodimus I have, the hands are a perfect fit for the old blaster's pegs (I'm using reissue blasters). Maybe they've done a running change and fitted Rodimus with more standard sized holes? Seems odd since that would likely mean Hasbro would need to remold the missle launcher as well.
Yeah, I don't get it either. I got Rodimus early, too, so it should be from one of the first batches. They would have had to remold the hands, the launcher peg and the underside of the car where the launcher plugs into. Certainly my Roddy can't be the only one like this.
It's hard to tell much from them, but here they are. The pegs for G1 Rod's blasters compared to Classics blaster doesn't really seem different to the naked eye, other than the fact that the Classics blaster peg isn't circular. Maybe I'll just get another Rodimus and see if the blasters work on him.
I cant fit my original hot rod guns in his hands. I cant even fit energon weapons in his hands. the damn holes are so small that they only accomodate the weapon he comes with.
Eriku, your Rodimus does have larger hand holes than mine. Weird. I wonder if it's a fluke or a running change.
Seems unlikely that it's a fluke since the port on the underside of the car as well as the blaster peg all correspond in size. Also seems unlikely for it to be a running change since I got him from one of the first batches and not many other people have reported this problem. I bought him at Fleet Farm. Maybe he has bigger hand holes for, i dunno, grasping those oversize crescent wrenches?
Well, the Bumblebee variation was present in an early case that I saw at a Toys R Us here, so it could be anything.
I love this guy but I've had two problems with mine - it's really hard to get the saw out, and the part the gun clips into in vehicle mode is way too tight, I almost broke the handle off in there. This of course could be what we call "operator error" though
I got Classics Rodimus today - and he's pretty cool. Not sure what they were trying to get at with the mouth, though - could have been done a bit better. But hey, it's Hot Rod - hooray! Now roll on Rodimus Prime - though I hope that they aren't going to be the same size... (The Titanium figs seem a bit out of scale compared to the CLassics, which is a shame - I'm guessing that my Titanium Jetfire will be a bit small compared to the Classics one.) Gary
Yeah, I just got him and I've had the same problem. I haven't figured out a better way to get the saw out than just fiddling but, since the gun attaches to the spoiler/backpack piece, you can flip it up as you would for "attack mode" (shudder) to get better leverage on the gun.
Nice pics. Classics needs an Autobot symbol on his chest. I swear, these toys nowadays need more faction symbols. That's just me, though, I guess. I actually keep him in Alt mode, if you can believe it. Bot mode wasn't that spectacular, imo.
I was just transforming mine last week and it reminded me just how much I like him. It's still one of my favorite modern TFs. I have my fingers crossed for a Universe/Classics Rodimus Prime (Voyager or Ultra class of course).
