So after finding out the official Scourge was going to be a TFCC exclusive, I decided to save myself some dough and paint up my G2 Optimus. No alt mode pics at this time. Thanks for looking and happy Memorial Day!

Love it! Only thing I "dont" like are the red windows. Have you tried using "JEM" paints? they work REALLY well on clear windows to make them the color you want even if they have a blue tint

Your detailing is incredibly intricate and spot-on, but the blue should be less patriotic and more neon.

    Thanks man!

The side windows are opaque originally so I did the windshield opaque too, just to match. I could've done em clear like the sword, it was just my preference. I've not heard of JEM paints...and thanks.

It's actually teal. It's slightly greenish in person, but the photos make it look a little dark. Thanks!

Great work on Scourge. How did you go about customizing the sword blade to keep it clear?

Hum, I have not, mind linking me to some more info?

You can also use the following with Future to make clear colors.
    Food Dye
Water Wash-up Markers "such as the ones made by crayola"
    Sharpie Pen Ink

To use the markers you just have to cut the pen open and drain the ink out of the plastic tube thing until you have the right color consistency.

Thanks again all. Never did take alt mode pics, just put him on my Decepticon shelf and forgot about it.

Interesting - do you have a link to the JEM paints you mentioned? I've been using Tamiya clear acrylics + future floor polish to seal them in. That only really works well if it's clear plastic to begin with though.

For this custom though, I actually like the solid red windows. If there's an airbrush handy + masking tape, I could see them looking more dynamic with a psudo-cell shading done across them (like FrogDNA does on his) - but it still looks great.
