im just curious but do you think Hasbro WILL do classics Red Alert or not? i really want him but £50 seems an awful lot to me for just a sideswipe repaint....

you think once this rubbish with the movie is over that Hasbro will get back to doing classics and give us Red Alert and Grapple ect or not?

I'm thinking Hasbro will likely do a Classics Red Alert at some point.
But surely, Henkei Alert isn't £50???

Henkei Alert is about £22 shipped everywhere at the moment... £50 is either you being ripped off, or you exaggerating to make your point.

i am glad i got mine when it first came out. i don't understand why are certain henkei figures such as Hound and cyclonus so hard to find? whereas figures like prowl, sunstreaker which have been out for a long time is still widely available.

Yeah once Hasbro realises there is more than ROTF and GI Joe movies, they will start putting out some new stuff. If it wasn`t for the Star Wars lines and the risks/creativity taken with that line, I would have given up on Hasbro.

Seriously? It's the Star Wars line that has me thinking Hasbro is basically rubbish. It's the other stuff - like TF and GI Joe - that redeems them. They took the Star Wars licence and ran it into the ground. Most of what they're producing in that line these days is shameful.

    Still, we're all allowed opinions!

Great another "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Theres a movie line!" thread.  If you wanted Red Alert you should have pre-ordered. It was obvious that Hasbro wasn't going to make one at the same time.

Take a look at Henkei Hound and Cyclonus. Like Megatron and Astro Train they have a markedly different deco than their classics/universe versions. While the Henkei and Universe Prowl and Sunstreaker aren't that different from each other.

I like the fact they will do background characters, big vehicles etc. I admit they put out some crap during a movie year, but after that it goes back to be solid stuff. Looking at stuff like the Big Falcon, AT-TE and Turbo Tank I can`t see the Transformers team putting out anything like that for TF, the only thing thats come close is Devs.

But yeah each to their own and in no way am I saying Hasbro is perfect, but with the liscences they hold now, they are it.

Hasbro's 1st wave deluxes for Universe 2.0 were all original molds. Then they repainted those molds. The repainted classics acid storm and starscream didn't show up until the later waves. So even if Hasbro releases Red Alert it might not be until 2011.

Henkei Sunstreaker is a darker yellow then Universe. About the same as Henkei vs Universe Hound. Only explanation I can come up with is that Hound is generally rarer then Sunstreaker for both Henkei & Universe.

Henkei Hound has more and different paint apps. And the shades of Sunstreakers yellow isn't obvious unless they are next to each other.

Cough up the few quid extra for the Henkei version.

Even if there is a Hasbro version, the paintjob is likely to be inferior.

Universe Sunstreaker looks like a highlighter marker, Henkei Sunstreaker looks like a mango. :)

I bet Hasbro does Red Alert, definitely. We may even see it before ROTF ends, but it's more likely to be line filler for the return of Universe.

Hopefully TFCC Punch/Counterpunch is done first, before the mold degradation gets too bad.

I don't think so. Hasbro abandoned the 'G1 reboot' concept when they decided to turn their Classics into Universe toys and considering how they're going with the ROTF line, I don't think America will see more Classics toys anytime soon.
I just hope Tomy resumes the Henkei line after the ROTF fever. It's our best chance to have Trailbreaker, Tracks and the others.

Whatcha mean? TakTom won't do more Henkei unless Hasbro is footing half or more of the mold costs.

If they do, I'll bet he'll be in a wave with Thundercracker and Swindle (Hound Repaint and cannon)
